Background / History

Tang Hao is Tang Chen’s grandson, Tang Zhen’s son, and Tang Xiao’s younger brother. He and Tang Xiao were regarded as Clear Sky Sect’s greatest talents of their generation, both possessing Innate Full Soul Power and being expected to obtain Hundred-Thousand-Year Spirit Rings after reaching rank 90. 3 32

After leaving Slaughter City, Tang Hao awakened memories of a previous life. In that life, Tang San rose to godhood, Spirit Hall fell, and Tang Hao eventually became Plane Lord of Douluo Continent alongside Ah Yin. Reborn in the past, Tang Hao initially intended only to secure Ah Yin, ensure Tang San’s birth, and allow the Tang family’s former future to recur. 31

He chose not to interfere with Tang Chen’s fate because he feared disrupting the Asura God’s arrangements. He also searched unsuccessfully for the Icefire Yin Yang Well, concluding that it would not emerge until Tang San’s birth. 32

Ah Yin and the sacrifice plot

While traveling with Tang Xiao, Tang Hao met Ah Yin. Both brothers confessed to her, but Ah Yin chose Tang Hao; Tang Xiao ultimately agreed to witness their wedding before returning to the sect. 31

Ah Yin revealed on the eve of their marriage that she was a transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor. Tang Hao’s reborn memories had already made her central to his plans: he wanted Tang San to inherit the Blue Silver Emperor’s potential, while also coveting Ah Yin’s Hundred-Thousand-Year Spirit Ring. 31 32

Tang Hao deliberately crippled Mad Rhinoceros Douluo rather than killing him, intending for the elder to report back to Spirit Hall and trigger a pursuit. His plan was to manufacture a desperate situation in which Ah Yin would sacrifice herself to him. 38 39

During the confrontation at Heavenly Valley Ridge, Ah Yin ultimately sacrificed herself to protect Tang Hao and Tang San. Her sacrifice gave Tang Hao a Hundred-Thousand-Year Spirit Ring, raised him to Title Douluo, and enabled him to counter-kill Golden Bell and Silver Hammer Douluos before seriously injuring Qian Xunji. 43 47

Separation from the Clear Sky Sect

Following the conflict with Spirit Hall, Tang Hao was named the new Clear Sky Douluo. The Clear Sky Sect celebrated his achievement, believing his red Soul Ring would allow him to eventually reach Tang Chen’s level. 47

As Spirit Hall demanded that the sect surrender him, Tang Hao voluntarily withdrew from the Clear Sky Sect. He declared that he alone would bear the consequences of his actions and sent that message through a Spirit Hall deacon whose Martial Soul he crippled. 60 61

Spirit Hall nevertheless used Tang Hao’s actions as justification to attack the Clear Sky Sect, rejecting the legitimacy of his withdrawal because he retained the Clear Sky Hammer, his cultivation, and his title. 76 The sect was devastated, and Tang Hao and Tang Yuehua were described as its only remaining bloodline outside Spirit Hall’s custody. 87

Afterward, Tang Hao settled Tang San in Sacred Soul Village and hid Ah Yin’s Seed of Life and Soul Bone in the Water Curtain Cave. 88

Appearance

Tang Hao is repeatedly described as a burly, broad-backed man. 60

  • Carries and fights with the Clear Sky Hammer. 38
  • His eight-ring configuration as a Soul Douluo was yellow, yellow, purple, purple, black, black, black, black. 38
  • In his Black Fury state, he is described as pitch-black all over. 328

Personality

Tang Hao is prideful and intensely convinced of his own future importance. His memories as a former Plane Lord make him dismiss many opponents as beneath him, and he repeatedly expects Tang San to resolve problems that he himself does not wish to analyze. 31 115

He is also calculating and ruthless. He engineered Spirit Hall’s pursuit to pressure Ah Yin into sacrificing herself, consciously treating her Spirit Ring and Tang San’s future Blue Silver Emperor inheritance as parts of the same plan. 39 43

Despite this, Tang Hao frames himself as a protector of his family and sect. He refused to yield Ah Yin to Spirit Hall, later accepted responsibility for the crisis surrounding Clear Sky Sect, and continued to place the Tang family’s long-term interests above all else. 42 60 144

Abilities & Skills

Clear Sky Hammer

Tang Hao’s Martial Soul is the Clear Sky Hammer, the Clear Sky Sect’s signature inheritance. Its combat style emphasizes direct force, dominance, and defense-breaking power. 2 38

  • Defeated Mad Rhinoceros Douluo while still an eight-ring Soul Douluo. 38
  • Forced back Qian Xunji’s Six-Winged Angel through the Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique. 42

  • Multiplies his combat power when activated. 355
  • Was instrumental in his ability to defeat stronger Title Douluo opponents shortly after becoming a Title Douluo. 42
  • Its enhancement is insufficient against Limit Douluo-level foes; Yue Guan and Gui Mei overwhelmed him despite the Domain. 355

Ninth Soul Skill: Scabby Hammer

Ah Yin’s sacrifice gave Tang Hao a ninth Soul Skill called Scabby Hammer. 43 44

  • Its power, amplified by Divine Slaughter’s Domain, was sufficient to instantly kill two Title Douluos. 44
  • Tang Hao himself found the skill’s appearance and name repulsive, having expected a life-attribute skill from the Blue Silver Emperor. 44

Sea God’s Light

After later descending to Douluo Continent, Tang Hao used Sea God’s Light against the Holy Spirit Cult. 356

  • Purified Evil Soul Masters. 356
