Background / History

Jing Chu transmigrated into the Primordial World as the consciousness within the Purifying World White Lotus, a Twelfth-Grade, Top-Grade Innate Spiritual Treasure. Aware that remaining a treasure would leave him vulnerable to refinement and the erasure of his True Spirit, he absorbed the world’s inherited memories, contemplated his origin, and pursued transformation into a Primordial Dao Body. The Primordial World recognized him as an orthodox native existence after he absorbed those memories. 1

After an unknown span of cultivation aided by spiritual energy and Three Lights Divine Water, Jing Chu took human form with early Primordial Unity Golden Immortal cultivation. He collected the resources on his birth island—including the Enlightenment Tea Tree, Void-Piercing Sword, and Water-Moon Longevity Robe—before leaving for the East Sea. 2

Seeking protection before the coming Witch-Demon Calamity, Jing Chu traveled toward Kunlun Mountain to seek apprenticeship under one of the Three Pure Ones. During the journey, he saved the untransformed Zhao Gongming and Three Skies from two Golden Flood Dragons, healed their injuries, helped them transform, and brought them toward Kunlun Mountain. 3 4 5

Tongtian accepted Jing Chu and his four companions as personal disciples. On Kunlun Mountain, Jing Chu cultivated the Supreme Purity Dao Method, established a cave abode, and advanced to the Late Primordial Unity Golden Immortal realm. 6 9 10

Before traveling the Primordial World, Jing Chu received the Purple Lightning Hammer from Tongtian, a Pangu Banner sword-qi talisman from Yuanshi, and nine Eight-Turn Golden Pills from Laozi. Tongtian also directed him toward earning Merit by purifying the baleful qi and resentment spreading across the land. 11 12

During his travels, Jing Chu formed ties with Kuafu and Houtu of the Witch Clan. Houtu entrusted him with warning Zhen Yuanzi that the Demon Court intended to seize Hongyun’s Primordial Purple Qi, rewarding him with the Nine-Turn Origin Art. Jing Chu fought through Demon Court forces, delivered the warning, and later sheltered Hongyun’s remaining wisp of Primordial Spirit after Hongyun’s fall. 18 19 20 22 23

Jing Chu eventually reached Wuyi Mountain in search of the ownerless Treasure-Dropping Copper Coin. After locating and breaking its innate grand formation, he obtained the treasure and defeated a Demon Court Great Luo demon god who attempted to ambush him. 24

Appearance

Jing Chu appears as a fair-skinned Daoist with ink-black hair bound beneath a jade crown. He commonly wears a water-and-moon-patterned Daoist robe and carries his sword on his back, giving him the bearing of an immortal sage. 15

Jing Chu is pragmatic and survival-minded. His decision to transform was driven by the danger of being discovered and refined as a spiritual treasure, and his search for a Sage master was motivated by the need for protection in the coming calamity. 1 3

Despite his exceptional origin, he is consistently courteous toward seniors and careful to observe proper etiquette. This earns the approval of Yuanshi, Laozi, Houtu, Zhen Yuanzi, and Hongyun. 7 12 18 20 23

He is protective and generous toward his fellow disciples. He rescues and guides Zhao Gongming and the Three Skies, gives the Three Skies Eight-Turn Golden Pills to support their cultivation, and refuses to bring them on a dangerous journey while their cultivation remains too low. 4 14 15

Jing Chu also has a relaxed, domestic side: he decorates his cave abode with spiritual roots and openly considers eating a personal hobby. 9
