Background / History

Qing Lin first appears in Stone Desert City as a frightened but defiant young girl protecting the injured Two-Headed Flame Spirit Serpent, “Little Ling,” from Mo Cheng. Though terrified of the peak Dou Ling, she refuses to surrender and trusts that the Desert Iron Mercenary Group and Xiao Yan will avenge her. Xiao Yao intervenes, identifies her Triple Jade-Green Snake Flower Pupils, and kills Mo Cheng. 127

She guides Xiao Yao and Xiao Yi Xian to the Desert Iron Mercenary Group. Self-conscious about the green scales on her wrist, Qing Lin gains confidence when Xiao Yao calls them beautiful rather than frightening. 128

Green Man and the Eight-Winged Black Serpent Emperor, White Fang, abduct Qing Lin because of her rare pupils and intend to take her to the Sky Serpent Mansion. Xiao Yao pursues them, defeats Green Man, captures White Fang, and rescues Qing Lin. 131 132 134

After explaining the nature of her eyes, Xiao Yao formally accepts Qing Lin as his first disciple. He gives her Foundation-Building Spiritual Liquid, teaches her cultivation, and helps her begin using the cultivation stored within the Two-Headed Flame Spirit Serpent. 134
