Background / History

In the Original Plot, Shen Keke was positioned to profit from the Shen Household’s destruction. After its members were dead, vegetative, or missing, he married into Zhou Jingxuan’s family and brought an unlaunched Shen Corporation core project and two plots of land worth hundreds of millions as dowry. 1

He is related by blood to the Shen family but grew up with an ordinary family background. This disparity became a lasting source of resentment: he envied the Shen family’s wealth, education, social position, and close family bonds. 4 19 28

Before the story’s main events, Shen Keke deliberately bumped Shen Can at a banquet out of jealousy and frustration, causing him to fall into a lake. Although he knew Shen Can had fallen in, he continued arguing with Zhou Jingxuan rather than seeking help; the nearby caretaker ultimately saved Shen Can. 4

Personality

Shen Keke is deeply insecure about his background and repeatedly compares himself to Shen Can. He interprets Shen Can’s success, family support, and relationship with Huo Xi as proof of an unfair world rather than as achievements separate from his own circumstances. 28 70 78

He is emotionally volatile and often seeks reassurance through Zhou Jingxuan’s attention. When frustrated, he cries, makes public scenes, or frames his harmful actions as unintentional. His apologies tend to focus on restoring his own position rather than acknowledging the harm he caused. 4 18 48

Despite being frequently dismissed as reckless, Shen Keke can act deliberately. His public provocations against the Shen family were intended to create conflict, and he later attempts to protect his position by gathering evidence against Wu Yang. 19 99

Lake Incident and Public Fallout

Shen Keke approaches Shen Can with an apology for knocking him into the lake, but his explanation reveals that he knowingly failed to get help after the fall. His resentment stems from believing that, as relatives, he should have had access to the Shen family’s wealth and status. 4

At Old Master Wang’s event, Shen Keke intends to save Wang and gain the benefits that would follow, but Shen Can disrupts the moment. Shen Keke falls instead, while Old Master Wang is struck. 6

He later chooses a wedding celebration to publicly apologize and provoke the Shen family. Shen Can slaps him and openly recounts the lake incident; Huo Xi then remarks that the Zhou family should teach Shen Keke until he is worthy before bringing him into society. The incident leaves Shen Keke isolated among wealthy families. 18 19

Escalation Against the Shen Household

Unable to accept Shen Can’s growing career, Shen Keke becomes increasingly hostile. He arranges for someone to drug Shen Can, but Su Nanxing drinks the drugged beverage instead. 40 42

During a cruise party, he offers to introduce Shen Can’s group to others, only to be dismissed by Su Nanxing. Amid the ship’s violent rocking, Shen Keke attempts to target Shen Can again and is kicked away before he can grab Shen Can’s hands. A bodyguard cushions his impact and is injured, while Shen Keke complains about the bodyguard afterward. 45 46

Dependence on Zhou Jingxuan

When Zhou Jingxuan agrees to pursue a partner with a stronger family background, Shen Keke accepts being kept in a villa rather than being acknowledged openly. He is later driven out by Zhou Jingxuan’s prospective wife and humiliated in front of servants and bodyguards. 65 69 70

Shen Keke begins seeking an independent career partly because he fears being permanently regarded as inferior by the Huo and Zhou families. Zhou Jingxuan funds his initial venture with a bank card. 70

Clothing Studio and Plagiarism

Shen Keke establishes a clothing studio despite having neither formal design training nor industry experience. Jiang Heng funds the studio and provides a factory, while paid promotion and bulk purchases make the first collection appear successful. 93 102

The studio’s designs are plagiarized and lack original elements. Shen Ze identifies similarities to his own past collection and intends to sue when Shen Keke releases further products. 102 103

As the plagiarism becomes public, Shen Keke’s studio faces lawsuits and closure. Zhou Jingxuan offers compensation money but insists that he was not an investor in the business. Shen Keke’s reputation is ruined, leaving him without a future in the industry. 104 105

Separation from Jiang Heng and Zhou Jingxuan

After choosing Jiang Heng over Zhou Jingxuan, Shen Keke realizes Jiang Heng offers neither security nor influence. Jiang Heng later attempts to force Shen Keke into a sexual game with his friends; Shen Keke escapes and calls Zhou Jingxuan for rescue. 93 97

Zhou Jingxuan rescues him but continues neglecting him in favor of Wu Yang. Shen Keke tries to regain Zhou Jingxuan’s attention by accusing Wu Yang of approaching him with ulterior motives. 97 99

By the time Shen Can returns from an overseas trip, Shen Keke hides rather than confront him, believing he no longer has the ability to fight Shen Can. 110
