Background

Lin Ming was orphaned when both of his parents died while pursuing the martial path. He lived under his uncle Lin Feng and aunt Liu Qingqing, who pressured him to surrender his martial-university early-admission quota to their son, Lin Zihao. When he refused, they framed him for stealing a gene enhancer and had him sent to the South River Defense Army's Blade Camp Reserve—a Death Squad with a 92% mortality rate 1.
