Background

Lin Ming was orphaned when both of his parents died while pursuing the martial path. He lived under his uncle Lin Feng and aunt Liu Qingqing, who pressured him to surrender his martial-university early-admission quota to their son, Lin Zihao. When he refused, they framed him for stealing a gene enhancer and had him sent to the South River Defense Army's Blade Camp Reserve—a Death Squad with a 92% mortality rate 1.

Upon reaching Blade Camp, Lin Ming obtained the Slaughter Evolution System. By killing Mutated Beasts, he could earn Kill Points and spend them to raise his realm, upgrade martial skills, deduce incomplete manuals, and later evolve his physique 1 3 15.

His survival and ruthless combat performance earned him the name “Madman Lin.” He left South River Base City after killing Chen Dabiao and provoking the Chen Household, then used the Wilderness as a killing ground to rapidly improve while surviving bounty hunters, mercenaries, and stronger martial artists 5 22 40.

Appearance

At eighteen, Lin Ming is 1.9 meters tall with a lean but sharply defined build. His body becomes increasingly powerful and scarred through battle, while retaining a restrained, refined bearing when not fighting 1 80.

  • Short black hair.
  • Well-defined facial features.
  • Pitch-black, profound eyes described as cold as blade edges 1.
  • Clean, sharp shoulders and back despite his initially lean frame 1.
  • Later possesses a physique with a jade-like sheen, marked by old and new battle scars 80.
  • Usually carries a spear, first the Silver Frost Spear and later the dark-gold Asura Spear 18 154.

Personality

Lin Ming is calm, terse, and intensely self-reliant. He generally avoids revealing his full strength or the existence of the Slaughter Evolution System, even to allies. He treats combat as a means of survival and advancement rather than sport; when Situ Kuang challenges him, Lin Ming refuses because his battles are “for slaughter,” not empty victories 5 73.

He is ruthlessly pragmatic toward enemies and those who obstruct his goals. He kills Chen Dabiao, bounty hunters, hostile nobles, Beast God Cultists, and enemy commanders without hesitation when he judges them to be threats. However, this ruthlessness does not extend to indiscriminate cruelty: he protects Xia He during the Chen Household pursuit, rescues captives in East Forest, and resolves to save Su Yunwan after learning she is held at Soul-Severing Cliff 22 37 131 191.

Despite his preference for independence, Lin Ming remembers favors. He values Su Yunwan's support when he was at his lowest, insists on repaying her for the Silver Frost Spear he breaks, and accepts Ye Lingyun as both an ally and an elder brother figure 70 149.

Abilities & Skills

Slaughter Evolution System

Lin Ming's system converts kills into Kill Points, which he uses to simulate cultivation, raise his realm, master techniques, repair incomplete manuals, evolve talents, and fuse compatible arts 3 15 248.

  • Kill Point rewards scale with the strength of the slain target; killing stronger opponents yields substantially greater returns 11 22.
  • Allows near-instant cultivation breakthroughs through simulated experience and energy infusion 3 100.
  • Can analyze, restore, and complete fragmented martial arts and cultivation methods 6 15 18.
  • Later unlocks direct upgrading of his spear technique to the Entering the Dao level 213.
  • Its rapid progression makes Lin Ming a target of suspicion, though he keeps it secret from nearly everyone 99 147.

Asura Physique

Lin Ming's initial SSS-grade Indestructible Asura Body grants exceptional survivability and combat growth. It later evolves into the Asura War God Physique, Asura Burial Heaven Physique, and finally the Asura Annihilation Divine Physique 17 71 150 249.

  • Immortal Foundation — Accelerates recovery and strengthens his body, blood vitality, organs, muscles, and bones 17 23.
  • Boiling War Blood — Lets his fighting power grow fiercer over the course of battle; minor injuries can become fuel rather than a liability 23.
  • Upgrade efficiency — Reduced the Kill Point cost of martial-skill upgrades by 50% at one stage of his growth 37.
  • Asura Burial Heaven Physique — A God-Grade physique that gives him overwhelming durability and powers such as the Burial Heaven Blood Domain 150 152.
  • Asura Annihilation Divine Physique — Its foundation is stated to be comparable to that of a Thirteenth-Tier Starfield Lord 249.

Spear Technique

Spear combat is Lin Ming's primary martial path. He begins with Basic Spear Art, develops Heaven-Splitting Three Forms, acquires Nine God-Slaying Forms, and eventually brings his spear technique to Entering the Dao 3 8 213.

  • Fights with concise, fatal movements aimed at weak points such as eyes, mouth, belly, and joints 3.
  • Reached Microscopic Control in Basic Spear Art within his first days at Blade Camp 5.
  • His Entering the Dao spear technique makes him one with his weapon and grants insight into spear intent, momentum, and heart 213.
  • His spear attacks later contain traces of law power rather than relying only on True Essence and domains 212 213.

Heaven-Splitting Three Forms

A B-rank fragmented spear art that Lin Ming purchases with merit and restores through the system. Its documented forms are Mountain Splitter, Wave Severing, and Heaven-Splitting 6 8 14.

  • Mountain Splitter — A heavy, direct form built around overwhelming force.
  • Wave Severing — A second form restored from the fragment by the system 6 8.
  • Heaven-Splitting — A third form that carries the intent to shatter the void; Lin Ming deduces and deploys it despite the original fragment not recording it 14 24.
  • Later integrated the Thunderclap Saber Technique's essence into the art, creating Thunder-Rage: Heaven-Splitting Three Forms, which increases his attack power by 30% 63.

Nine God-Slaying Forms

An incomplete S-rank spear art obtained from Peak Martial Arts Hall. It is built around slaughter intent and laws of destruction, making it compatible with Lin Ming's physique and fighting style 73 80.

  • Its first documented form is Spirit Slaughter, which carries an ancient will and intense killing intent 73 80.
  • Lin Ming later masters the first six forms: Mountain-Breaking, Sun-Piercing, River-Severing, City-Shattering, Blood-Weeping, and Heaven-Splitting 151.
  • Soul-Slaying — Erases the target's soul while leaving the body intact; Lin Ming uses it to kill a Seventh-Tier Illusory Heart Demon Fox 151 152.
  • Dao-Reversal / Defying the Dao — Distorts causality and laws in the surrounding space, causing a spatially jumping Void Mantis to strike itself 151 152.

Dragon-Elephant Prajna Art

A cultivation and body-tempering technique loaned to Lin Ming by Su Yunwan. Though initially believed to be A+-rank, its escalating restoration cost and later performance suggest a far higher origin 17 18 213.

  • Produces vast, enduring blood vitality described as dragon-elephant force 17.
  • Tempered Lin Ming's physical foundation and significantly improved his prolonged-combat capability 18.
  • Reached fourteen layers by his Eighth-Tier breakthrough 171.
  • Developed through sixteen, then eighteen dragons and elephants' power 184 215.
  • Later fused with the Nine Heavens Thunder Movement Art fragment into Lightning Dragon-Elephant Prajna Art, gaining lightning properties and increased destructive force 248 249.

Movement and Defense

Lin Ming uses Dragon Roaming Step for mobility and Immovable Mountain Seal for defense, both initially incomplete B-rank techniques restored and upgraded by the system 18.

  • Dragon Roaming Step — Enables unpredictable movement, short-range explosive charges, evasions in confined spaces, and afterimages at high mastery 18.
  • Immovable Mountain Seal — Forms a defensive force field that can deflect force, rebound attacks, and resist blunt or energy-based impacts 18.
  • Both reached Great Mastery by the time Lin Ming began effortlessly killing Third-Tier bounty hunters 37.

Godslayer Domain

Lin Ming awakens the Godslayer Domain after entering the Ninth Tier 213 214.

  • Suppresses enemy combat power by more than 20% 214.
  • Converts the life essence of defeated enemies into nourishment for Lin Ming, allowing him to grow stronger through battle 214.
  • Evolves to gain the Chaos ability upon his breakthrough to Tenth Tier, Second-Layer Peak 259.

Equipment

  • Silver Frost Spear — A+ grade spear given by Su Yunwan while Lin Ming was fleeing into the Wilderness; later broken during his conflict with Lin Ya 22 70.
  • Asura Spear — S-rank divine weapon manifested after Lin Ming evolves into the Asura War God Physique 71.
  • Asura Divine Spear — Evolved form of the Asura Spear after Lin Ming upgrades to the Asura Annihilation Divine Physique 249.
  • Golden Feather Emperor Bone Spear — SSS-grade divine weapon crafted from the Golden Feather Emperor's spine and gifted to Su Yunwan 214 215.
  • Peak Martial Arts Hall identity badge and personal terminal — Grant access to the Hall's resources, mission system, archives, communications, teaching area, and support services 50.

Relationships

  • Lin Feng — Lin Ming's uncle. Lin Feng helped steal Lin Ming's university quota and frame him for gene-enhancer theft, sending him to Blade Camp 1.
  • Liu Qingqing — Lin Ming's aunt and Lin Feng's wife; participated in the scheme to sacrifice Lin Ming's future for Lin Zihao 1.
  • Lin Zihao — Lin Ming's cousin, who receives the university quota intended for Lin Ming 1.
  • Su Yunwan — Guard Army major and longtime supporter. She delivers Heaven-Splitting Three Forms, loans Dragon-Elephant Prajna Art, gives Lin Ming the Silver Frost Spear, and later promises to protect South River Base City in his absence 7 17 22 215.
  • Old Wang (Wang Fugui) — Blade Camp veteran who helps Lin Ming use the military wristband, warns him against reckless exchanges, and shows him kindness after battles 5 6.
  • Xia He — A Wilderness companion connected to the Water of Life. Lin Ming orders her to hide during the Chen Household's pursuit and uses her as a protected asset while hunting their reinforcements 27 37.
  • Xiao Wuhen — Peak Martial Arts Hall Inspector who brings Lin Ming to Upper Capital Base City, oversees his registration, and increasingly supports him despite concern over his methods 48 49 100.
  • Situ Kuang — The Special Training Camp's top trainee and a fellow combat fanatic. Lin Ming initially refuses his challenge, but later rescues him from Yu Tianlong 73 154.
  • Ye Lingyun — Master of Peak Martial Arts Hall and Blue Star's strongest human. He becomes Lin Ming's mentor-like ally, asks to be called “Brother Ye,” and trusts Lin Ming with major responsibilities 146 149 166.
  • Xiao Hei — Lin Ming's Abyssal Demon Dragon and combat partner. Lin Ming treats Xiao Hei as a partner rather than a pet; Ye Lingyun identifies it as a pure-blooded Primordial Dragon Clan member 149 151 212.
  • Lin Ya — Special Training Camp rival and Beast God Cult traitor. Lin Ming defeats him, later uses feigned submission to infiltrate the cult's East Forest headquarters, and ultimately opposes his plan to sacrifice the city 67 131.
