Background / History

Li Zhengyuan was originally a man from the twenty-first century. After being betrayed by the woman he had pursued for over a decade, losing his family’s wealth, and suffering the deaths of his parents, he attempted suicide by leaping from a high-rise building. The azure jade he carried activated during the fall, twisting space and taking him from his world. 1

The jade brought his true spirit to the Primordial World during the creation of heaven and earth. Concealed beneath a mountain, his true spirit eventually entwined with Earth Suluo True Primordial Qi and formed a cocoon protected by the Earthly Dao. The Ginseng Fruit Tree and Earth Book were nurtured around it over countless ages. 25

He later awakened as Zhen Yuanzi, an Innate Divinity born of Primordial Yang Earth, at Five Villages Temple. Although initially preoccupied with uncovering his origins and returning to his former era, he began cultivating through the Yellow Court Scripture and gradually embraced the Earthly Dao as his own path. 2 24 25

His battle with the Chaos Fiendgod remnant Hun'e earned him Heavenly Dao Merit and the Pure Water Alms Bowl. Rather than pursue cultivation alone, he increasingly used his power to repair damaged earth veins, disperse miasma, and protect suffering living beings. 13 16

After resolving his inner conflict, Li Zhengyuan declared that Li Zhengyuan and Zhen Yuanzi were one and the same. He condensed his Dao Fruit, entered the Dao Lord realm, and established the Pure Good Void Compassion Earth-Spirit Realm as the foundation of his Dao. 25 26
