This was the second time Zygarde Core had heard Xia Yan talk about "flipping the table."
The last time Xia Yan said it, it had still been asleep, with only the faintest sliver of consciousness.
But it understood that Xia Yan had merely been venting then, so it had not responded.
This time was different.
Zygarde Core could clearly sense that Xia Yan was not joking. He truly wanted to flip the table and bulldoze all the annoying problems in one go.
Most importantly—
It did not even think Xia Yan was bragging.
It believed Xia Yan really had some qualification to flip the table.
That was what left it most speechless.
A dignified "God of Order" that protected order, yet the person accompanying it wanted to flip the table at every turn and destroy order at its roots.
It was rather laughable when it thought about it.
But what left Zygarde Core speechless was that Xia Yan had actually gone back to the Pokémon Center to sleep.
As if he had completely decided to ignore what was about to happen in the Kalos Region.
And that sleep—
Lasted until the sun shone through the window into the room the next morning, when he slowly woke up.
He touched his shoulder and back but did not find Zygarde Core. Xia Yan pursed his lips.
[You're awake.]
Yet Zygarde Core's voice still rang out.
Following the sound—
He saw a green little blob clinging to the windowpane. Its tiny eyes held worry, yet its gaze was calm.
As though, after a night of contemplation, it had made some decision.
"I thought you'd left."
Xia Yan scratched his messy hair and said lazily.
Then he began washing up.
[I can't accomplish this alone.]
Zygarde Core was quite honest and candid.
"Yeah, sure."
