Background / History

Zi Quan is the daughter of the previous chief of the Rain Ninja Village. She protected the village from Hanzo's influence after her father's death; Zhou Yang suspects that Hanzo killed her father, though this is not confirmed. She tests Zhou Yang with genjutsu before offering to marry him if he can defeat Hanzo, establishing their relationship as both political and personal from the outset. 39

Hanzo considers Zi Quan's approval essential to legitimizing Zhou Yang as a future successor, since she retains support among ninja loyal to her late father.
