"Basic Ki Application!"
After going through the shop list countless times, Feng Xun chose this skill, which hardly even looked like a skill.
[Basic Ki Application: B-rank skill. Grants mastery of the fundamental principles of ki. Depending on proficiency, it can slightly alter the power and form of other skills, may provide a certain chance to develop unknown skills, and completes basic ki training. Required points: 2000]
Judging from the description, this skill seemed utterly useless, with no offensive ability whatsoever. But upon closer consideration, one could see just how important this barely qualified-as-a-skill skill was to Feng Xun now.
As everyone knew, in Dragon Ball, everyone possessed ki, though some had more and some had less. Some people could never tap into the power of ki throughout their entire lives.
The use of ki was an even more crucial factor in improving one's strength. Just think of Raditz's disbelief when he first invaded Earth and saw Goku's combat power suddenly rise in battle!
This was actually one application of ki. And after Vegeta learned how to use ki early on, his strength increased by leaps and bounds.
However, this increase did not refer to raising the total amount of ki, but to becoming proficient in how to use it—expending less ki to unleash greater power.
If Feng Xun's total ki had originally been 1 and its power had also been 1, then after learning this ability, his total amount could remain 1 while its power became 2.
Moreover, it could alter certain applications of skills. For instance, the ki blast fired by a normal Kamehameha traveled in a straight line. After learning "Basic Ki Application," Feng Xun could manually change the Kamehameha's direction.
After learning "Basic Ki Application," Feng Xun's character panel changed once again.
[Feng Xun] [Class: Genin] [Strength: Elite Chunin] [Bloodline: Half-Saiyan] [Skills: Basic Taijutsu, Afterimage Technique (Multiple), Kamehameha (Beginner), Basic Ki Application (Cannot be upgraded)] [Special Talents: Potential Unleashed, Survival of the Fittest] [Inventory] [Shop ※ Lucky Draw Pack unlocked] [Remaining points: 59]
Lucky Draw Pack?
Feng Xun rubbed his eyes and discovered that the Lucky Draw Pack screen, which had always been locked, could finally be selected.
A Lucky Draw Pack! Feng Xun felt a little excited.
When it came to pay-to-win mobile games, the biggest money trap was undoubtedly the gacha. But when it came to testing one's bloodline, it was undoubtedly the gacha too.
Filled with excitement, Feng Xun opened the Lucky Draw Pack interface.
There were only two products displayed on the pack screen: one was "Lucky Draw Pack" x1, while the other was "Lucky Draw Pack" x10!
Damn it, where were the special-value packs from pay-to-win mobile games? Where was the original price of 998, now only 666?
Feng Xun was speechless. He was now certain that this so-called system created by Shenron had definitely been modeled after knockoff mobile games from the Heavenly Dynasty—and had surpassed its source.
What the hell, only gacha?
When he looked at the draw mechanics, Feng Xun grew even more annoyed.
One draw actually cost 2,000 points, and even a ten-pull had no guaranteed reward mechanism.
So what was the point of a ten-pull?
On top of that, even the draw rates were clearly listed: D-rank items 60%, C-rank items 30%, B-rank items 9%, A-rank items 0.999%, S-rank items 0.001%.
Feng Xun really wanted to know whether he could pull an S-rank item before he died.
Still, this draw system was not completely devoid of benefits. At the very least, it retained the free first-draw mechanic.
Besides that, there would be one free draw opportunity every month.
Taking a deep breath, Feng Xun decided to draw without washing his hands. Trembling, he reached toward the Lucky Draw Pack.
Shenron, bless me. The first draw determines an "account's" value. Please don't let me pull garbage!
After Feng Xun selected the Lucky Draw Pack, its icon shifted and changed, eventually forming a blue slip of paper marked with a B.
Only a B-rank item?
Feng Xun sighed softly. Although a B-rank item was already quite good, if possible, he would have preferred an A-rank item with that 0.999% chance.
Then, the B on the slip slowly faded away, replaced by a skill name: "Limited Time-Skip."
Wait a second!!!
What did I just see?
Feng Xun felt his heartbeat suddenly accelerate. For a long while, he could not recover from his Er Kang-like expression.
Time-Skip Technique—the bugged skill that appeared in Dragon Ball Super. Back in the Heavenly Dynasty, people had endlessly argued over it on forums. Some said the skill was completely unreasonable, or rather, that it could be considered invincible.
Only after the Time-Skip Technique was countered was its myth of invincibility shattered.
He had never expected to luck into such a bugged skill.
However, after seeing the description for the nerfed Time-Skip Technique, his heart, which had been blazing with excitement, instantly cooled by half.
[Limited Time-Skip (original price: 9980 points): B-rank skill. A skill of Hit from Universe 6. Allows the user's time to skip forward by 0.05 seconds. Requires a large amount of ki to use.] [Derived Skill: Time-Skip Space (Limited Version). Can store 0.5 seconds of the user's Time Skip duration, using the stored time to create a separate-dimensional space in which the user can act freely for 0.5 seconds. Once per day.]
Honestly, compared to the original Time-Skip Technique, this nerfed version was worlds apart. The Time-Skip Technique's primary ability was skipping time.
In Dragon Ball, Hit could skip up to 0.5 seconds. To him, 0.5 seconds was enough to throw dozens or even hundreds of punches—but that was because he had already been incredibly powerful.
For someone weak, being able to complete a single punch in 0.5 seconds would already be impressive. As for 0.05 seconds, even Hit from the original story could probably only land one or two attacks at most.
If Feng Xun himself used those 0.05 seconds, they might not even be enough for more than a tiny adjustment, such as shifting his fist three or four centimeters.
Especially the final note for this skill—using it required a large amount of ki—greatly reduced its practical value.
Compared with the Time-Skip Technique itself, what he valued more was the derived skill it brought: "Time-Skip Space."
Although it could only be used once per day, and only lasted 0.5 seconds each time, it could greatly reduce the chance of him suffering a fatal blow. It could even allow him to counterattack in a desperate situation using that half-second.
Someone in his previous life had once said that Obito's Kamui and Time-Skip Space had similar effects. Feng Xun agreed with that assessment.
Of course, that did not mean Time-Skip Space had no weaknesses. In fact, its weakness was obvious: its duration was too short. If it were a continuous skill, or if a boulder crashed down on him and he could not escape in time, then when he returned from the separate-dimensional space, he would be affected again.
A typical example was Konan's hundreds of millions of Explosive Tags.
Still, no matter what, this was an extremely practical skill. Feng Xun was very satisfied with this first draw.
