Background
Feng Xun is a transmigrator who fell asleep while reading Dragon Ball and awoke in the shinobi world. By the beginning of the story, he has spent seven years there without being able to extract chakra, while his older brother Minato had already displayed exceptional talent. 1
His circumstances change when the Dragon Ball System binds to him. Using its beginner rewards, Feng Xun acquires the Afterimage Technique and permanently fuses with the Half-Saiyan Bloodline despite the system’s warning that the fusion cannot be reversed. 2
Feng Xun’s parents died in battle at the hands of Salamander Hanzo. Their deaths become one of his central motivations, alongside his determination to protect Minato and overturn the future he knows from his previous life. 20 228
Appearance
Feng Xun initially appears as a small boy with ink-black hair, often seen resting on the grass with a blade of dogtail grass between his teeth rather than attending training. 1
- Youthful appearance causes others to underestimate his authority and combat ability. 110 177
- His Super Saiyan transformation gives him upright golden hair and dark-green pupils. 212
- He frequently conceals his identity through masks, disguises, and the Transformation Technique. 40 204 211
Personality
Feng Xun begins as lazy, mischievous, and openly dismissive of ordinary ninja training. He skips classes, teases Kushina, and initially accepts the Dragon Ball System’s bloodline fusion with little caution. 1 2
Despite this irreverent manner, he is observant and calculating. He investigates the suspicious circumstances around Nawaki’s death, recognizes political manipulation within Konoha, and keeps many of his techniques hidden so opponents cannot prepare counters. 65 102 197
He is fiercely protective of those he considers family. Feng Xun resolves to change Minato’s fate, repeatedly risks himself for Tsunade, gives Minato and Kushina precious Senzu Beans before leaving Konoha, and seeks revenge on Hanzo for killing his parents. 20 155 201 228

- Transformations impose severe strain; Super Saiyan leaves his breathing unsteady, while battlefield use can consume immense chakra and provoke rejection from the world. 162 200
Ki Manipulation
Feng Xun develops ki control through Basic and Advanced Ki Application, eventually using it for flight, shaping, reinforcement, and ranged combat. 46 97
- Flight — Can levitate and fly through Advanced Ki Application, though he can exhaust his ki while airborne. 107

- Advanced Taijutsu — Listed among his mastered combat skills by the time he reaches Jōnin-level strength. 140
- Afterimage Technique (Triple) — High-speed movement creates three afterimages to confuse an opponent before attacking. 4

- Ruyi Golden Cudgel — Used during his battle with Hanzo alongside his other high-level techniques. 230
Time-Skip Techniques

Story Role / Major Arcs
System Awakening and Early Battles
After receiving the Dragon Ball System, Feng Xun rapidly progresses from someone unable to use chakra into a Genin-level combatant. He first tests his abilities in real combat against Yuan Wu, delaying the enemy so Minato can pursue Kushina. 2 4 14
His growing but unstable strength leads Tsunade to take him as a disciple. Under her instruction, he develops a more reliable foundation rather than depending solely on bloodline-enhanced power. 27
Second Shinobi World War
Feng Xun serves in the war, acquires the Ancient Saiyan Bloodline, and reaches Jōnin-level ability. During the decisive conflict with Sunagakure, he protects Tsunade, transforms into a Super Saiyan, kills the Third Kazekage, and turns the battle in Konoha’s favor. 97 140 155 160 165
His public reputation rises sharply afterward, though he hides the true nature of his power behind the name “Qi Release.” 166 167
Konoha Jōnin and Departure
Feng Xun becomes a newly promoted Jōnin and the instructor of a team containing Kushina, Hyuga Huijie, and Miyamoto Sakura. His authority is challenged because of his youth, but he responds by imposing a formal test and maintaining order. 177 178
After confronting Danzo over the Uchiha Clan and Nawaki’s death, Feng Xun nearly executes him before Hiruzen and Tsunade intervene. Disillusioned with Konoha’s leadership, Feng Xun obtains permission to leave the village indefinitely. 197 199
Founding an Independent Faction
Outside Konoha, Feng Xun assists Uchiha Ryu’s escape after the assassination of the Land of Earth’s daimyo. He then recruits Roshi and Han, bringing Roshi and Miyamoto Sakura to the Land of Fire Imperial Palace as the first members of his growing organization. 205 206 212 213
Princess Youhua becomes his political ally, granting the group freedom to operate within the palace in exchange for protection and priority access to information from the Land of Fire. 216
Revenge Against Hanzo and the Zetsu Conflict
Feng Xun confronts Hanzo to avenge his parents. The battle forces him to rely on Time-Skip Space, Super Saiyan power, and his knowledge of Hanzo’s poison sac. 229 230 231

White Zetsu’s defeat is followed by a mysterious darkness and a worldline divergence. Shenron offers to send Feng Xun back to a critical point in the past, tasking him with changing the future through significant actions. 256 258
