Background / History

Chisato lived beyond Konoha's founding and became one of the Uchiha Clan's most formidable figures. She created the forbidden Sharingan technique Izanami and used it to end an internal Uchiha conflict over eye theft by herself. The technique's aftermath severely damaged her body, Soul and Life Origins, and eyesight; one eye eventually became blind. 3 58

As her health declined, Chisato remained the principal deterrent against the escalating suppression of the Uchiha by Hiruzen Sarutobi's faction. She suspected Danzo's group of murdering Uchiha Kagami, but lacked decisive proof. Her worsening condition made her fear for both the clan and her son, Xunjing. 1 2

After Xunjing awakened the Space-Time Gate, Chisato accepted his contract without hesitation. She learned the Life-Nourishing Art after a single demonstration and traveled with him to the Pirate World to find treatment. Dr. Kureha's care, Xunjing's medical methods, and sustained cultivation restored Chisato's vitality, repaired her foundation, and began healing her damaged eyes. 2 3 14 33

Personality

Chisato presents herself as gentle, affectionate, and composed, particularly around Xunjing and the younger members of her circle. She trusts her son completely, supports his ambitions, and regards protecting him and the Uchiha as her foremost responsibilities. 2 9 49

Behind that warmth is a forceful and pragmatic leader. Chisato openly uses intimidation when necessary, protects valuable clan resources, and negotiates from a position of strength. Chisato contracts with Xunjing, learns the Life-Nourishing Art, and accompanies him to the Pirate World for treatment. Upon arriving on the Kuja Pirates' ship, she single-handedly defeats the attacking slave traders, earning the crew's gratitude and securing passage toward Drum Island. 2 4

Uchiha Reforms

After recovering her health and ocular power, Chisato convenes the Uchiha Clan assembly, suppresses internal dissent, and launches broad reforms.
