Background / History

Sendoh attended Sacred Radiance during middle school, where he and Chi Tong were the only players capable of competing with Nine Peaks Academy’s lineup. Their combined play kept the score tied at halftime despite their teammates’ inferior physical ability. 16

Before teaming with Chi Tong, Sendoh had lost to Sawakita Eiji in the previous year’s middle-school competition. He later meets Sawakita again in the finals and declares that defeating him—and Chi Tong—will not be as easy a second time. 17

Chi Tong encounters Sendoh outside the basketball gym and recognizes him by his distinctive hairstyle. Sendoh is already a regular player on the school team, playing small forward. 7 8 After Chi Tong joins, Sendoh is among the first to recognize how Chi Tong’s passing, court vision, and tactics improve the entire club. 11

At Ryonan, Sendoh develops into one half of the team’s “Twin Aces” alongside Chi Tong: Sendoh provides agile drives and scoring, while Chi Tong controls the tempo and tactical structure. 282 Their partnership carries Ryonan through the National Tournament and to the championship, establishing Sendoh as a nationally recognized ace. 525 526 533

Sendoh is also a responsible teammate. He intervenes when Chi Tong’s intimidating presence risks escalating a conflict before the Toyotama match, and he trusts Chi Tong’s tactical calls during Ryonan’s comeback against Sannoh. 217 487
