Tatsuya Sakuya turned around and slowly headed toward the dormitory building.
The cafeteria's clamor gradually faded behind him. The evening breeze swept past, and the rustling leaves made the campus seem especially vast and quiet.
Tatsuya Sakuya took the elevator to the second floor. The motion-sensor light in the corridor flicked on with a click as his footsteps approached.
As he rounded the corner, his gaze trembled slightly of its own accord.
At the end of the dim corridor, a tall, slender figure leaned against the door to his Room 217 dorm.
Her dark purplish-black hair was tied into a side ponytail over her right shoulder, with a few loose strands hanging casually beside her cheeks. The girl's eyes were cold and detached, carrying an inescapable air of weariness and world-weariness.
Her uniform was worn somewhat improperly, giving her an unruly, carefree look.
As the footsteps drew closer, Kamuro Masumi slowly raised her head, her gaze locking onto the approaching Tatsuya Sakuya.
"Why is Class 1-A's personal errand boy standing guard outside my Room 217 instead of staying by your princess's side and waiting for orders at this hour?"
Tatsuya Sakuya stopped before the door, teasing her with a faintly condescending tone.
Hearing that irritating voice, Kamuro Masumi rolled her eyes and straightened up.
"Do you think I wanted to come here? That scheming little brat insisted on making me..."
Kamuro Masumi made no attempt to hide her resentment at being forced into this errand, irritably adjusting her clothes.
"How exactly did you keep your classmates from getting expelled? I heard someone from Class 1-D was supposed to be expelled."
Tatsuya Sakuya did not answer, merely using his keycard to unlock the door.
"Hey, are you even listening to me..."
"Click."
The sound of the door opening cut off Kamuro
