Background / History
Wan Keshan obtained Wolf Venom from the Star Realm beyond New Continent's Boundary Gate and brought it to Fallen Blossom City for a martial-arts lesson. It was displayed in an alloy cage with its limbs pinned to a steel plate, its neck chained, and its body covered in silver powder. 5 6 22
To test his students' courage, Wan Keshan shattered the cage and Wolf Venom's collar, awakening the beast while its limbs remained restrained. Most of the class panicked, but Li Qingshan approached it with a machete after noticing that killing it could unlock his Martial Arts Space. 6 7
Li initially failed to inflict meaningful damage on Wolf Venom's torso. He instead exploited its lower-body vulnerability, repeatedly stabbing upward before driving the blade into its abdomen and destroying its internal organs to ensure its death. This kill unlocked Li Qingshan's Martial Arts Space. 7
Because the Martial Arts Space automatically records monsters killed by Li, Wolf Venom reappeared there as an unrestricted projection. Unlike the restrained original, the projection could immediately charge and kill Li with its fangs and claws, becoming his primary obstacle to training. 11
Li spent roughly a month repeatedly fighting the projection while developing Lost-Trace Steps. After reaching Mastery, he began defeating Wolf Venom consistently and killed it ten times in one session. 16 18 A month later, after mastering Wind Shadow Blade and reaching the Body Tempering Second Stage, Li defeated Wolf Venom head-on rather than relying solely on evasive attacks. 23
Wolf Venom later remained part of Li's increasingly demanding Martial Arts Space training, including multi-opponent battles against projections of Wolf Venom, three other Feral Beasts, and You Qingya. By then, it had ceased to be a meaningful standalone threat to him. 33 50
Appearance
Wolf Venom resembles an enormous wolf, though its anatomy differs significantly from that of an ordinary animal. Its massive body nearly filled its original cage. 5 7
- Furless dark-red skin, with blood vessels visibly writhing beneath it 5
- Four interlocking, cold-glinting canine teeth 5
- Crimson eyes and a bloodstained maw capable of releasing a rancid gust with its roar 6 7
- Fine ribs distributed throughout its torso rather than concentrated around a normal ribcage 7
- Dense musculature capable of resisting shallow blade strikes and contracting to stop bleeding 7
Abilities & Skills
Star Realm Physiology
Wolf Venom possesses physical abilities far beyond a Body Tempering First Stage martial artist.
- Maximum burst speed approaches 50 meters per second. 13
- A casual strike exceeds one ton of force. 13
- Its physical capabilities are comparable to those of a Body Tempering Fifth Stage martial artist. 18 50
- It can cross a hundred-meter distance in approximately two seconds when charging. 17
Fangs and Claws
Wolf Venom relies on direct predatory assaults, using rapid pounces, claws, and bites to overwhelm opponents.
- Its first projection attack killed Li Qingshan by biting through his head. 11
- Its claws can disarm an opponent, crush bones, and rupture internal organs in a single exchange. 11
- It can rapidly turn and launch follow-up pounces after landing. 11 17
Extreme Durability
Its body withstands attacks that would severely injure ordinary creatures.
- Li Qingshan's initial machete strike penetrated less than a centimeter into its waist and abdomen. 7
- Muscle tissue stopped the strike before it reached bone, while the wound rapidly ceased bleeding through muscular contraction. 7
- Its torso is protected by fine ribs distributed across its body. 7
Instinctive Combat
Wolf Venom fights through speed, force, and animal instinct rather than martial techniques.
- Its instinctive attacks were initially enough to kill Li Qingshan repeatedly in the Martial Arts Space. 11 15
- Once Li mastered Lost-Trace Steps, he could predict its movements and move into advantageous positions before its attacks landed. 18
- Its lack of martial skills left it unable to counter Li's maneuvering despite its superior physical attributes. 18
Martial Arts Space Projection
Wolf Venom's projection is automatically recorded after its death at Li Qingshan's hands.
- The projection first appeared without being summoned and attacked Li immediately upon his first entry into the Martial Arts Space. 11
- Unlike the original, the projection is fully mobile and fights at Wolf Venom's true strength. 11
- After being defeated, it becomes a lifelike statue at the edge of the platform and can be faced again. 18
- Like other recorded monster projections, it possesses only the instinct to kill rather than independent consciousness. 33
Weaknesses
- Lower body and abdomen — Li Qingshan repeatedly bypassed Wolf Venom's torso defenses by attacking its groin and tearing into its abdomen. 7 18
- Predictable instincts — Its attacks become exploitable against a combatant with sufficiently advanced movement techniques. 18
- No martial skills — Its superior speed and strength cannot compensate when it cannot land a hit on a more technically skilled opponent. 18
Relationships
- Li Qingshan — Killer of the original Wolf Venom and the projection's recurring opponent. Wolf Venom's projection drove Li's rapid development of Lost-Trace Steps and Wind Shadow Blade. 7 11 16 23
- Wan Keshan — Captured Wolf Venom from New Continent's Boundary Gate and used it to teach his students that martial arts are a path of slaughter. 7 22
