Background / History

Tang San regards Yu Xiaogang as a second father and accepts his teacher's guidance with near-total trust. When Lu Li humiliates Yu Xiaogang early on, Tang San vows to become strong enough to repay the humiliation personally. 1 2

Tang Hao secretly supports Tang San's growth after learning of Lu Li and the changing situation around his son. He obtains a thousand-year Scarlet-Scaled Lava Fruit for Tang San, but has Yu Xiaogang present it as his own effort while keeping Tang Hao's identity hidden. 12 13

After leaving Notting Academy, Tang San travels toward Shrek Academy with Xiao Wu. He follows her preference to travel by carriage and stop at the Rose Hotel rather than continuing directly to the academy. 25 27

At Shrek, he reaches level 30 at age twelve. During the search for his third Spirit Ring, Xiao Wu claims that Demon-faced Spiders killed her parents; Tang San promises vengeance and ultimately absorbs a Demon-faced Spider's Spirit Ring while trying to rescue her from the Titan Giant Ape. 32 38 39

His devotion to Xiao Wu is similarly extreme. He is distressed by her anger, risks himself to pursue and protect her, and repeatedly yields to Lu Li's demands when Xiao Wu is threatened. 27 39 85 98 Her absence leaves him distracted and despondent. 90
