At Notting Academy, Xiao Wu shares a close bond with Tang San. When he invites her to transfer to a stronger academy, she hesitates because powerful Soul Douluo or Title Douluo could identify her as a transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Spirit Beast. She ultimately chooses to travel with him rather than remain in Notting City, where her growth would be slower. 25

On the journey to Soto City, Xiao Wu insists that she and Tang San rest at the Rose Hotel instead of immediately reporting to the academy. Tang San yields to her request, establishing the dynamic in which she readily directs their shared decisions. 27

While accompanying the Shrek group into Star Dou Forest for Tang San's third Spirit Ring, Xiao Wu becomes distressed over humans hunting Spirit Beasts.
