Background and History

Transmigration and awakening

Yuan Ming was originally a man from Earth who awakened with two sets of memories: his own and those of Yuan Mingshi, one of the three thousand Primordial Humans created by Nuwa. Recognizing the dangers facing the young Human Race in the Primordial World, he resolved to survive, strengthen humanity, and conceal his extraordinary talent until he had sufficient power. 1

His Trait System granted him the nine-colored supreme trait [Great Dao Comprehension]. It allowed him to understand, optimize, and practice cultivation methods at an extraordinary rate, but he deliberately minimized the disturbances caused by his cultivation. 1

Establishment as a Human Ancestor

Dissatisfied with the slow growth of the inherited Human Race breathing method, Yuan Ming created the Heaven-Devouring Dao Scripture for himself. Because its devouring principle was too dangerous for ordinary humans, he separately devised the Four-Step Breathing Method, which guides Postnatal Humans from refining essence into qi to returning to the Innate state. 2

He sought Suiren's approval before spreading the method. Its successful trials convinced Suiren and the elders to recognize Yuan Ming as the fourth Human Ancestor; Suiren's trust also enabled Yuan Ming to copy [Human Race Fortune]. 3

Founding the Central Plains settlements

When resource shortages threatened the Human Race's growth, Yuan Ming proposed dividing the people into multiple migration groups led by Primordial Humans. He volunteered to take the most difficult western route and led a million people through dangerous territory to the fertile Central Plains. 7 8

Rather than protect the migrants from every hardship, he acted as a stern mentor—using formations, spells, and instruction to keep them alive while allowing them to develop resilience and self-sufficiency. After settling the region, he fostered agriculture, founded the first settlement, and reconstructed his personal cultivation method into the Human Race-compatible Dao Scripture. 8

The four established Demon Clans of the Central Plains challenged the newcomers through the Great Demon Banquet. Yuan Ming attended despite recognizing the danger, presented a Nuwa statue as a diplomatic gift, and answered the four leaders' combined Dao pressure with the Taiji Great Dao. The demonstration secured their respect; afterward, Black Xiong, Dou Cang, and Hei Tian sought his guidance in cultivation. 9 10 11

Journeys, Golden Immortal breakthrough, and Redcloud Ancestor

After the Central Plains prospered for three thousand years, Yuan Ming entrusted its leadership to Hua Qi and traveled east in pursuit of a breakthrough opportunity. He discovered Redcloud Ancestor's remnant soul and agreed to escort it to Five Villages Temple on Longevity Mountain. In return, Redcloud helped him initially refine the Nine-Nine Soul-Scattering Gourd and taught him [Transforming Rainbow Extreme Speed]. 11 12 13

At the ruins of Purple Abode Province, Yuan Ming acquired [Eastern Radiant Pure Yang] and underwent the Golden Immortal Tribulation. He survived all nine lightning bolts, attained the Golden Immortal Realm, and initially comprehended the Sun, Pure Yang, Taiji, and Devouring Great Daos. 14 15 16

When Sea Race demons converged on Purple Abode Province, Yuan Ming killed a Black Dragon True Immortal with one punch and defeated three Sea Race Golden Immortals. He used the Nine-Nine Soul-Scattering Gourd to annihilate them, refined their cultivation through the Devouring Dao, then exterminated the remaining demons in the province to prevent news of his power from spreading. 17 18

Return to the Human Race

Yuan Ming delivered Redcloud's remnant soul to Zhen Yuanzi and received a Ginseng Fruit in gratitude. The fruit enabled him to open an initial Fleshly Grotto-Heaven, while Zhen Yuanzi later taught him the Grotto-Heaven Great Dao and Wu Earth Dao for three thousand years. 20 21

An urgent warning drew Yuan Ming back to the Central Plains, where the conflict between the Witch Race and Demon Race had devastated Human Race settlements and killed nearly half their population. He suppressed his rage, used [Taiji Pacifies the World] to shield the survivors and their allies, and redirected the remaining resources toward reconstruction and cultivation. 22 23

After witnessing the Human Race's endurance and Yuan Ming's role in creating its cultivation foundation, the newly ascended Sage Laozi offered to accept Yuan Ming as the first disciple of the Human Teaching. 24

Appearance

As a Primordial Human personally molded by Nuwa, Yuan Ming possesses an innately extraordinary Dao body and an otherworldly presence. He generally restrains his aura, appearing calm and unremarkable despite his growing strength. 9

  • His restrained aura can make him seem merged with heaven and earth. 9
  • In battle, his blood qi manifests like a blazing furnace, and his physical presence becomes that of a direct, overwhelming martial combatant. 17
  • Upon entering the Golden Immortal Realm, his eyes can reflect visions of a Golden Crow, yin-yang rotation, and chaos returning to void. 16

Personality

Yuan Ming is cautious, pragmatic, and intensely aware of the Primordial World's hierarchy. Even after becoming a Human Ancestor and reaching the True Immortal Realm, he keeps his greatest talents hidden, delegates public affairs to Suiren, and prioritizes strengthening his foundation over displaying power. 1 4 6

His central motivation is the survival and elevation of the Human Race. He creates methods suitable for Postnatal Humans, guides migrants through dangerous lands, gives away hard-won treasures to cultivate new Human Race experts, and chooses restraint when attacking stronger factions would endanger the survivors under his protection. 3 8 22 23

He can also be ruthless when secrecy or his people's security is at stake. After using the Nine-Nine Soul-Scattering Gourd against the Sea Race, he exterminates the remaining demons of Purple Abode Province rather than risk exposure and retaliation. 18
