Shiji cultivated quietly at White Bone Cave on the yin-chilled White Bone Mountain. She rarely involved herself in Jiejiao's affairs or external disputes, instead teaching her small number of attendants and maintaining simple restrictions around her dwelling. 36 37

Xuan Chuan's heavenly-secret deduction identified Shiji as the target of an imminent life-ending tribulation connected to Nezha and True Person Taiyi. In the original fate he discerned, she would be refined alive by the Nine-Dragon Divine Fire Hood and sent to the Investiture of the Gods List. 36

Shiji's Foreseen Tribulation

Xuan Chuan discovers Shiji's karmic thread to Nezha and Taiyi, recognizing that she faces imminent death and possible inclusion on the Investiture of the Gods List. He, Zhao Gongming, and Yunxiao immediately depart for White Bone Mountain to intervene. 36

White Bone Mountain and Qianyuan Mountain

After Nezha kills Biyun, Shiji attacks him in grief and fury. Nezha deliberately retreats toward Qianyuan Mountain, drawing her into Taiyi's prepared trap. 37

Taiyi refuses to hold Nezha accountable, invokes destiny to justify Biyun's death, and attempts to refine Shiji with the Nine-Dragon Divine Fire Hood. Xuan Chuan cuts through the hood's confinement, shields Shiji with Merit, and forces Taiyi to retreat. 38 39

Return to Golden Turtle Island

Shiji returns safely with Xuan Chuan, Zhao Gongming, and Yunxiao. The rescue slightly strengthens Jiejiao's fortune, while Shiji publicly commits herself to Xuan Chuan's rules, Merit path, and formation drills. 40

Chentang Pass

Still carrying hatred toward Nezha and Taiyi but acting under Xuan Chuan's command, Shiji accompanies him to prevent the destruction of Nezha's shrine. She is nearly overcome by Venerable Ananda's Buddhist technique, but later holds him back with both of her sashes and petrification art. 47 48

When Wenshu's Dragon-Binding Pillar is weakened by Xuan Chuan's formation strategy, Shiji seizes Nezha's golden body and the soul within it before Wenshu and Taiyi withdraw. 50
