Background / History
Fuxi first appears as Xi, living in Phoenix Perch Mountain with his sister Wa. Neither can initially cultivate because their Origin Sources have been scattered into more than a thousand portions. Bai Ze recognizes their extraordinary foundations, teaches Xi how to sense Primordial Spiritual Qi, and agrees to take the siblings with him temporarily. 107 112
At a cave dwelling in Phoenix Perch Mountain, Fuxi and Nuwa cultivate on meditation cushions connected to their inheritances. The process awakens traces of their true forms and grants Fuxi the beginnings of the Eight Trigrams; he emerges calmer and more perceptive, though still confused by the changes within himself. 117
Fuxi travels with Bai Ze and Nuwa through Phoenix Perch Mountain, the Qilin Secret Realm, the Demon-Sealing Well, Mount Buzhou, and later investigations of the Pure Land Alliance. His divinations repeatedly guide the group through hostile terrain, formations, Tribulation Qi, and hidden ancient sites. 124 146 157 207 215
After the Dragon-Han Primordial Calamity, Fuxi continues investigating the Demonic Path and the larger forces behind the Primordial World's calamities. Excessive deduction leaves him shaken by the possibility that events lie beyond even the secrets of Heaven, but he remains committed to finding answers. 210 213 238
In later years, Fuxi aids Bai Ze in protecting a city and locating survivors, while continuing to deduce the remnants left across the world. He helps record the names and stories of those who stood against adversity, writes books for the city's children, and eventually devotes himself to watching an enormous fragment beneath the East Sea. 253 262 263 267 269
Appearance
Fuxi initially appears as a handsome, rugged man with a strong, wild bearing. As his inheritance awakens, phantasmal traces of his human-bodied, serpent-tailed true form emerge. 107 117
- Sharp, blade-carved features, thick brows, and large eyes. 107
- Tall, straight physique with bronze-colored skin and powerful musculature. 107
- Initially wears an unknown beast hide around his lower body. 107
- Manifests Clear Qi and an incomplete Eight Trigrams phantom while cultivating or using divination. 117
- Later ages visibly from sustained deductions; his hair turns considerably whiter. 249
Personality
Fuxi is thoughtful, steady, and deeply protective of Nuwa. Though initially bewildered by his fragmented Origin Source and sudden ability to cultivate, he refuses to abandon Bai Ze after receiving his guidance and protection. 112 124
He approaches problems through careful analysis rather than rash action. His dedication to divination becomes intense enough to strain his health and Dao heart, particularly after he realizes that unseen forces may be manipulating events beyond what he can calculate. 210 250 253
Fuxi also values remembrance and knowledge. He assists Bai Ze in preserving names on stone slabs, writes accessible books for children, and persists in studying the world's fragments even when the answers remain uncertain. 262 263 267
