Background / History

Jin An arrived in the world with prior knowledge of One Piece. Upon meeting the young Bartholomew Kuma, he recognized Kuma’s name and chose to accompany him. He later used his sword to free Emporio Ivankov from his chains. 2

During the God Valley incident, Kuma volunteered to serve as bait for the Celestial Dragons. Jin An accepted Kuma’s resolve, then bound himself to the Auxiliary Cultivation System and took the mission to replace Kuma as bait. 3 Amid the chaos, he stole and ate the Azure Dragon Fruit sought by Charlotte Linlin, surviving their destructive clash despite severe burns. 5

Afterward, Jin An traveled with Kuma, Ginny, and Shanks. The four became a close family despite having no blood relation, and Jin An later began training the others so they could protect themselves in a brutal world. 7 23 24

He joined the Marines and rose through the ranks while commanding the Sorbet Kingdom branch.
