A shockwave of gold-and-red flame swept across the battlefield, hurling every enemy in its path aside. More astonishing still, the flames seemed to cancel out the Voidbringer's effects, burning at full strength even within its field.

"Impossible! That's impossible!" the Science Division captain screamed.

Ace ignored him. His gaze locked onto the distant Voidbringer control center. "I'm ending this!"

Like a gold-and-red meteor, he charged toward the central base. The defenders tried to stop him, but his newfound power swept them aside.

At last, he broke through the final line of defense and stood before the Voidbringer control center.

"Shatter!" Ace drove his fist forward with all his strength.

Gold-and-red flames poured down like lava, destroying the control center's core. With a deafening explosion, the Voidbringer's energy field began to collapse.

But the instant the device was destroyed, a strange pulse of energy spread from the heart of the blast. It was no ordinary shockwave. It was a release of energy that warped the laws of nature.

"Oh no!" Ace sensed the danger, but it was too late to escape.

The pulse struck the sea, triggering an unnatural change. As though answering a summons, the water began to churn violently. Within minutes, an immense tsunami had formed.

"Everyone, evacuate the island!" Ace ordered.

The Alliance soldiers began to retreat, but the tsunami was too fast. It swallowed most of the island, sweeping away everything in its path. Ace rescued as many as he could, but the waves still carried off many soldiers.

When the tsunami finally subsided, Morgan Island was unrecognizable. The eastern Voidbringer site had been utterly destroyed, but the Alliance forces had paid a terrible price.

Ace stood amid the ruins as his gold-and-red flames gradually faded. His wounds began bleeding again, and his vision blurred.
