Background / History
Zhou Guomin came from the countryside and married into the wealthy Su Household. Although he gained status and influence through Su Minghui and her family, he resents being viewed as a live-in son-in-law. After Su Minghui entrusted Su Corporation's affairs to him, he promoted his own allies and gradually replaced much of the company's core personnel, leaving the corporation Su-owned largely in name. 3 5
For years, Zhou maintained an affair with Zheng Xiuru while presenting himself to Su Minghui as a gentle, considerate husband. Zheng bore him fraternal twins, Zhou Yuhan and Zhou Yuqin, and later a younger daughter, Qianqian. He considers Zheng's children his only true children, while dismissing Su Minghui's sons as “Su Household's children.” 5 6
Following Su Leyun's birth, Zhou arranged personnel at Wancheng Postpartum Care Center and intended to have Leyun abducted, then persuade Su Minghui to adopt Qianqian. When Su Minghui instead moved to the highly secure Number One Postpartum Care Center, he abandoned the abduction plan and resolved to find an opportunity to kill Leyun. 3 5
Zhou's larger objective is to become Su Corporation's true president and bring Zheng Xiuru and their children into the Su Household openly. The continuing recovery of Father Su and Mother Su threatens this plan because their prestige remains influential among the company's shareholders. 6 29 31
Personality
Zhou Guomin is calculating, image-conscious, and intensely resentful of his dependence on the Su Household. He carefully performs the role of a refined, devoted husband when doing so protects his standing, but his composure repeatedly breaks when Su Minghui defies him or when he feels humiliated as a live-in son-in-law. 4 8 10
He is possessive of power and views his family chiefly through utility. He seeks Su Minghui's connections, the Su elders' shareholder influence, and even Su Leyun's relationship with the Chu Family as assets that should serve his ambitions. 29 30 35
Despite his cruelty, Zhou is cautious around people he cannot afford to offend, particularly the Su elders and the Chu Family. He repeatedly chooses deception, plausible deniability, and gradual manipulation over open action when his position is insecure. 6 22 47

- Su Leyun — Youngest son. Zhou initially planned to have him abducted so Qianqian could be adopted into the Su Household; after that failed, he considered killing him. 3 5

- Su Yibei — Son. Zhou regards him as overly attached to Su Minghui and believes the Su elders turned him against his father. 6
- Zheng Xiuru — Mistress and mother of Zhou's three illegitimate children. They share the goal of reuniting their family openly after Zhou gains Su Corporation. 5 6 35

Story Role / Major Arcs
Postpartum Care Center Scheme
Zhou attempts to direct Su Minghui and newborn Su Leyun to Wancheng Postpartum Care Center, where he has arranged collaborators. Su Minghui's decision to stay at the Chu-affiliated Number One Postpartum Care Center blocks his plan to abduct Leyun and replace him with Qianqian. 4 5
Concealed Family and Household Infiltration
While neglecting Su Minghui and Leyun, Zhou spends time with Zheng Xiuru and their children. He later installs Zheng Xiuru in the Su Household as Leyun's nanny, allowing the affair partners to operate under the same roof while Zhou presents the arrangement as concern for his wife and child. 5 9 35 36
Pursuit of Su Corporation
Zhou seeks formal control of Su Corporation by securing the presidency at the approaching shareholders' meeting. He attempts to win Mother Su's support, fears the Su elders' recovery, and grows increasingly eager to eliminate obstacles to his authority. 10 29 31
Attempt Against the Su Elders
After Father Su suffers a severe medical reaction, Su Leyun identifies Zhou as the person who had been delivering soup. The soup contains ingredients that conflict with Father Su's medication; Zhou claims it was an innocent mistake, while Su Minghui and Fu Siwen continue gathering evidence against him. 46 47
Exposure of His Affair
Su Minghui deliberately lets Zhou become complacent, then follows him to Zheng Xiuru's room and obtains hidden-camera footage of their affair. Zhou remains unaware that his infidelity is documented and believes he still has Su Minghui under control. 48 49
