Background / History
Dijun was born in the starry sky as one of two Three-Legged Golden Crows. He and his brother Taiyi were both born as Late-Stage Zenith Heaven Golden Immortals, carrying Purple Imperial Qi that marked them as rulers; Dijun possessed the River Chart and Luo Script, while Taiyi possessed the Chaos Bell. 22
After Taiyi's defeat by Kunpeng, Dijun recognized the danger posed by unaffiliated great cultivators and advised avoiding conflict with Kunpeng and Mu Jizi while the Demon Race's larger plans remained unfinished. 57 He then pursued the unification of Demon Race factions personally, subduing the ten Demon Gods while Taiyi sought Nuwa and Fuxi's support. Their efforts established a unified Demon Race capable of openly contending with the Witch Race. 57 61
Dijun later became Xihe's Dao companion. Through her, he became connected to Yuehua and the forces of Two Sages Island, though this family link also drew him into later political and military complications. 56 148
Appearance
Dijun commonly appeared as a young man around thirty years old, dressed in a Golden Crow-yellow robe. He had sword-like brows, a proud nose, and an imposing imperial bearing. 56
- Three-Legged Golden Crow by true form. 75
- Possessed a stern, commanding presence befitting the Heavenly Emperor. 117 118
- His grief after the deaths of his sons was described through tears of blood and a savage expression. 114
Personality
Dijun was an ambitious but measured ruler. Unlike Taiyi's more direct temperament, he understood that the Demon Race needed organization, political alliances, and a reliable chain of command to survive against the Witch Race. He personally handled the subjugation of Demon Race factions because Taiyi's temperament could alienate potential allies. 57
He was also skilled at imperial manipulation. When Guiche tried to dismiss a minor tiger demon seeking an audience, Dijun overruled him, heard the demon's report, and framed the act as concern for every member of the Demon Race—silently winning the admiration and loyalty of his ministers. 118
His caution did not prevent ruthlessness. He plotted to seize Red Cloud's Primordial Purple Qi, assembled temporary allies around shared resentment, and used a hidden trap against Red Cloud during his attempted escape. 76 104 He was willing to authorize the slaughter of humans after learning that their souls could become strategically valuable against the Witch Race. 119
Despite this severity, Dijun was deeply devoted to Taiyi, Xihe, and his children. He restrained his grief enough to protect his surviving son, humbled himself before Nuwa to secure the child's safety, and ultimately died protecting Taiyi. 114 116 152
Abilities & Skills
Imperial Leadership
Dijun united divided Demon Race factions and commanded the Demon Heavenly Court through political discipline as well as force.
- Personally subdued the ten Demon Gods during the Demon Race's unification. 61
- Managed court officials through calculated rewards, rebukes, and displays of benevolence. 118
- Directed vast demon armies and assigned the ten Demon Gods to lead separate assault routes against the Reincarnation Netherworld. 143
Heavenly Cycle Star Formation
Dijun's signature formation was derived through the River Chart and Luo Script and required a large celestial force to operate.
- Required the River Chart and Luo Script as its foundation and 365 Golden Immortal-level or stronger Demon Race experts to preside over the stars. 76
- Could draw upon stellar power to overwhelm mountain-guarding formations and battlefield opponents. 76
- When augmented by the Heavenly Court's stellar origins, its power increased by more than ten thousandfold. 111 150
- Concealed demon troops among an endless sea of stars and launched falling stars and meteors at enemy forces. 111 150
- Was ultimately shattered by the Twelve Ancestral Shamans' Pangu True Body, leaving Dijun severely injured and unable to fight. 111 150
River Chart and Luo Script
The top-grade innate treasures borne by Dijun at his birth served as both weapons and the core of his formations. 22
- Manifested floods and a dragon horse while concealing Demon Race soldiers within the descending waters. 149
- Evolved constellations and supported the Heavenly Cycle Star Formation. 149
- Failed under the Pangu True Body's axe strike, returning to Dijun after the formation collapsed. 111 150
Witch-Slaying Sword
A weapon forged from Human Race souls specifically to counter the Witch Race's formidable bodies and demonic arts. 148
- Neutralized the Eleven Ancestral Shamans' demonic cloud attack at the entrance to the Demon Realm. 148
- Allowed Dijun and Taiyi to bluff a stronger defensive position despite lacking their usual major treasures. 148
- Was wielded directly by Dijun in the final battle against the Ancestral Shamans. 152
Monster Summoning Banner
Nuwa gave the Monster Summoning Banner to Dijun and Taiyi as a means to bring the Demon Race under genuine central command. 84
- Summoned all demons below the Golden Immortal realm when shaken. 84
- Could summon stronger demons if they had left a trace of their aura upon the banner. 84
- Dijun used it to gather demons from across the Primordial Wilderness before the final Witch–Demon War. 152

- Guiche — Demon God and subordinate. Dijun silenced Guiche after he overstepped his authority by attempting to reject a minor demon's audience. 118
Story Role / Major Arcs
Demon Race Unification
Dijun identified the Demon Race's fragmentation as the reason it was losing to the Witch Race. He and Taiyi divided their responsibilities: Taiyi recruited Nuwa and Fuxi, while Dijun subdued Demon Race factions and the ten Demon Gods. 57 61
Struggle for Primordial Purple Qi
After Hongjun's merger with the Heavenly Dao left a ninth strand of Primordial Purple Qi available, Dijun sought to take Red Cloud's strand. He developed and drilled the Heavenly Cycle Star Formation, recruited Taiyi, Styx, and Fuxi, and repeatedly attempted to corner Red Cloud and Zhen Yuanzi. 72 76 77 104
Rule of the Demon Heavenly Court
With the Monster Summoning Banner and the Heavenly Court's stellar power, Dijun acquired the means to command Demon Race forces on a much larger scale. He used both military authority and political theater to maintain unity among demon officials and common demons. 84 111 118
Conflict over the Human Race
Dijun initially preferred to wait for the Witch Race's move before acting against humanity. After receiving intelligence on the strategic potential of human souls and vengeful ghosts, he authorized preparations to seize those souls, though Nuwa later ordered the Demon Race to halt the Human Race's slaughter. 118 119 135
Final Witch–Demon War
Dijun led the Demon Race against the Eleven Ancestral Shamans with the River Chart and Luo Script, the Witch-Slaying Sword, and the Heavenly Cycle Star Formation. When the Ancestral Shamans resorted to successive self-destructions to wear down Taiyi's Chaos Bell, Dijun sacrificed himself to block Xuanming's explosion and then self-destructed among the Ancestral Shamans, killing Dijiang, Goumang, Tianwu, and Shebi Corpse. 149 150 152
