Overview

A Quasi-Sage is the cultivation realm immediately above Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal. Entering it elevates a cultivator beyond the realm of immortals and into the highest echelon of the Primordial Wilderness. At the time when Sages have not yet emerged publicly, Quasi-Sages are regarded as the world's strongest combatants and hold the greatest political influence. 119 163

The term Quasi-Sage was introduced by Yuan Tian. The related labels First Corpse Severing and Two-Corpse Severing became common only after Hongjun transmitted the Corpse-Severing Dao. 241

Advancement

Law Comprehension

Comprehension of laws is the principal route from Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal to Quasi-Sage. The higher a cultivator's law comprehension, the higher their potential advancement beyond the realm. 13

• Five-Element Law is considered the foundational law for broader law comprehension. 179
• Reaching even Minor Accomplishment in an Innate Law is rare among Quasi-Sages. 120
• Complete comprehension of a law can itself become a path to Sagehood. 179

Force-Proving Dao

Cultivators specializing in the physical body may force their way into Quasi-Sage through immense mana rather than law comprehension. This route is associated particularly with the Witch Clan and its inheritance of Pangu's bloodline. 13 179

Corpse-Severing Dao

Hongjun's Corpse-Severing Dao creates incarnations by severing good thoughts, evil thoughts, and self-obsession into suitable Innate vessels. Reuniting all three corpses can lead toward Sagehood. 101

• First Corpse Severing corresponds to the initial Quasi-Sage level. 120
• Innate Spirit Treasures, Innate Spirit Roots, and Innate Demon Gods may serve as vessels. 101
• Using Innate Demon Gods produces stronger incarnations, but risks karma, damage to the vessel, and complications when reuniting the three corpses. 101
• A cultivator may reach Quasi-Sage without severing a corpse, as demonstrated by Yuan Tian. 120

• Ancestral Dragon — Entered the Quasi-Sage realm roughly fifty thousand years before the Dragon Clan council; his strength exceeded that of peak Zenith Heaven Golden Immortals by more than tenfold. 60 61
• Phoenix Ancestor — A Quasi-Sage whose cultivation was concealed from much of the Primordial Wilderness. 86
• Qilin Ancestor — One of the Three Tribe Patriarchs recognized as a Quasi-Sage-level powerhouse. 119
• Hongjun — An absolute pinnacle among Quasi-Sages before attaining Sagehood. 119

Limitations

• Quasi-Sage status does not guarantee victory against another Quasi-Sage; mana reserves, law comprehension, physical body, Spirit Treasures, formations, and battle experience remain decisive. 120 230
• Even an Innate Supreme Treasure cannot usually be fully unleashed without Sage-level cultivation, Sage-comparable mana, or Heavenly Dao support. 191
• A Quasi-Sage who borrows a Lesser World's World Force may challenge a Sage within that world, but this advantage is territory-dependent. 162
• The difference between Quasi-Sage and Sage is immense; Hongjun severely injured Dijun and Taiyi—both Quasi-Sages—with a single palm strike. 208
