He looked at Dumbledore in confusion. Could it be that the man wanted to kill this child?
Dumbledore did not explain himself to Snape. He merely shook his head, signaling for him not to ask any more questions, his gaze urging him to take Chu Yang away quickly.
Snape snorted coldly, gave Dumbledore a slight bow, then turned and left.
"Thank you for your hospitality, Headmaster Dumbledore. The snacks here were quite good." Chu Yang bowed politely before following Snape out.
Dumbledore watched the two of them leave until the doors shut tightly behind them.
The entrance to the Slytherin House Dormitory and Common Room was located underground at Hogwarts.
Hufflepuff House was located here as well.
The two Houses lay in opposite directions, with the Hogwarts kitchens between them, where hundreds of House-elves worked.
Chu Yang followed Snape back to the path new students took from the cave dock to the school's main entrance, then turned onto another fork in the road.
Before long, Chu Yang saw a damp stone wall blocking the way.
It looked exactly like the back entrance of the Leaky Cauldron.
"Pure-blood!"
Snape proudly raised his chin and spoke the password, shooting Chu Yang a glance. The stone wall immediately rumbled open, revealing a cobblestone path beneath their feet.
The two followed the path deeper inside, and a spacious Common Room suddenly came into view.
The surrounding walls were built from black Gothic marble, while the ceiling was a transparent crystal half-dome through which rippling water could be seen overhead.
This place was at the bottom of a lake—more precisely, at the bottom of the Black Lake.
Chu Yang looked up.
Through the windows, he could see fish swimming past, along with some enormous aquatic creatures.
Green-glowing lamps hung from chains on the ceiling. There was a fireplace in the room, complete with an exquisitely carved mantel.
The two sides of the Common Room led respectively to the boys' and girls' dormitories.
Standing at the entrance, Snape said coldly, "Don't tell me you expect me to find your bed for you too?"
"Thank you."
Despite Snape's cold attitude, Chu Yang still bid him farewell politely.
"Slytherin is different from the other Houses. The students here are highly hostile toward non-Pure-blood wizards. If you can't protect yourself, leave as soon as possible. Don't end up losing your life here," Snape added abruptly.
Then he left the Common Room without looking back.
Sharp tongue, soft heart.
Watching Snape's haughty retreating figure, Chu Yang shook his head and headed up the stairs leading to the boys' dormitory.
When Chu Yang entered the room, he saw a row of beds draped in dark green curtains. Unlike the relatively cheerful atmosphere in Gryffindor, the Slytherin boys were rather serious. Instead of excitedly fooling around in the dormitory, they were preparing to decide who would be the leader of the room.
As for what they would compete over...
Naturally, it was the family backgrounds they were so proud of. Whoever had the more distinguished family would have more say and authority in the dormitory.
Draco Malfoy was not here, so for the moment, the boys could not determine who was superior.
But one thing was certain... a non-Pure-blood like Chu Yang would definitely hold the lowest status.
"How are you here?!" Goyle, who had been arguing with someone, saw Chu Yang standing in the dormitory doorway and immediately shouted in alarm.
The new students all turned to look at Chu Yang, then remembered the astonishing scene in the Great Hall earlier.
"Isn't he Muggle-born? How could he have been sorted into Slytherin?" Crabbe and Goyle, who knew about Chu Yang's background, whispered to the students beside them. Before long, everyone knew Chu Yang's true identity.
The new students who had just wanted to welcome Chu Yang immediately changed their expressions. They silently formed a united front and stared at him with hostile eyes.
"Sorry, but please leave. This is the great Slytherin House, not a place for a non-Pure-blood wizard like you. You must have taken a wrong turn." Blaise Zabini, a dark-skinned boy, stepped forward and looked at Chu Yang with disdain and disgust.
Chu Yang looked at the classmates who regarded him as an enemy, the corners of his lips lifting slightly. "You don't like me being here. As it happens, I feel the same way. Even when I was at the orphanage, I only liked sleeping in a room by myself!"
"A communal dormitory really doesn't suit me, so you'd better get out obediently and let me sleep in peace. Otherwise, a lot of people might not be able to attend class tomorrow. If Slytherin loses points, it'll be troublesome for me."
"A lowly Mudblood dares threaten us?" Chu Yang's attitude provoked Blaise's Pure-blood pride. "This isn't your territory, Easterner!"
"As far as I remember, Africa doesn't seem to have wizards. There are only shamans there." Chu Yang immediately sneered. "I heard your ancestors learned magic in cotton fields."
Blaise, who had Black ancestry, flew into a rage!
He charged straight at Chu Yang, intending to let this skinny Easterner experience his strength!
The scene was rather ridiculous. Blaise, who claimed to be a Pure-blood wizard, was actually planning to teach someone a lesson with his fists because he had not yet learned any offensive magic.
While Blaise and Chu Yang were clashing, Goyle and Crabbe tacitly backed away. They still believed that Malfoy's fate might have had something to do with Chu Yang.
The two might have been stupid, but their instincts were quite sharp.
How threatening could the fists of an eleven-year-old possibly be?
Chu Yang could not even be bothered to dodge. Seizing the moment, he drove a kick straight into Blaise's abdomen.
Blaise felt an enormous force slam viciously into him. As pain struck, even his consciousness began to blur, and he only felt himself flying.
In fact, Chu Yang had indeed kicked him flying. After hitting the ground, he slid several meters across the smooth floor before inertia sent him straight underneath a bed.
Blaise immediately fell into a dizzy stupor.
The others were even more shocked!
With just a casual kick, Chu Yang had knocked the strong Blaise unconscious.
"Damn it, let's get him together and drive him out of Slytherin!"
The crowd surged forward, planning to overwhelm Chu Yang with numbers. The sounds of fighting also drew new students from other dormitories.
After learning what had happened, they decisively joined the group opposing Chu Yang.
At this moment, Goyle and Crabbe once again quietly backed away.
Their instincts remained accurate.
Within a few breaths, a group of eleven-year-old children lay on the ground foaming at the mouth.
Chu Yang dusted off his hands and smiled at the two of them. "If you don't mind, please take this trash out with you when you leave. And try not to disturb my sleep, all right?"
Goyle and Crabbe nodded frantically like pecking chickens.
Then Chu Yang found a bed by the window where he could admire the mysterious creatures at the bottom of the lake. He swiftly took off his robes, climbed beneath the soft covers, closed his eyes, and smiled contentedly.
Goyle and Crabbe carefully carried the boys out of the room one by one, terrified of disturbing Chu Yang's sleep.
While carrying Blaise, Goyle briefly lost focus and let Blaise's head knock against a bedpost with a dull thud.
Chu Yang's eyelids twitched. He did not open his eyes, but an impatient expression appeared on his face.
Goyle and Crabbe were scared out of their wits. Trembling all over, they slowly dragged Blaise out of the room.
Once the two had quietly closed the dormitory door, Chu Yang smiled and finally drifted into sleep.
Looking at the new students sprawled all over the Common Room, Goyle and Crabbe, drenched in sweat from all their work, bitterly found themselves comfortable sofas to lie down on.
The fireplace blazed fiercely, but it could not drive away the damp chill from the floor.
After all, this was the bottom of the Black Lake. If these new students lay there until morning, most of them would catch colds.
