Damn, so that was what they had been planning. No wonder they'd spoken up for me.
Ron then shot Chu Yang a knowing look, while Harry merely smiled shyly.
After everyone else had left, Neville finally hurried over to Chu Yang. There were still tear tracks on his chubby cheeks. "Chu Yang, you helped me again. I don't even know how to thank you."
Just as Chu Yang was about to say something polite, Neville said embarrassedly, "If you could teach me how to fly, I'd be even more grateful."
Chu Yang: "..."
Madam Hooch, who was returning to the teaching building to fetch something, happened to run into Professor McGonagall.
"Professor McGonagall, where are you headed?"
"I was just about to find you, Madam Hooch."
Madam Hooch asked in surprise, "What did you need me for?"
Professor McGonagall asked impatiently, "I noticed the Flying Class on the grounds just now. What was with Chu Yang's strange flying posture? Was it your latest invention?"
Madam Hooch hurriedly waved her hands and denied it. "That was an accident. Chu Yang caused it by mistake."
Professor McGonagall shook her head. "I saw him flying quite well up there. He controlled the Flying Broomstick very skillfully. It didn't seem like a mere accident."
Madam Hooch hesitated for a moment before smiling lightly. "Perhaps he's simply talented. Some people are like that. A Flying Broomstick is like a part of their body in their hands. They can use it naturally without deliberately studying it."
Professor McGonagall agreed with that explanation.
But she felt that Chu Yang was even more exceptional than those examples. After all, he had already displayed many unusual traits before.
After a while, Madam Hooch returned carrying a box, with Professor McGonagall beside her. However, Professor McGonagall said nothing and simply stood to one side, quietly observing Madam Hooch's lesson.
Madam Hooch greatly enjoyed the atmosphere at the beginning of Flying Class. Everyone was full of curiosity and desire, but as the lesson went on, many would give up and slack off.
Learning to fly had a threshold.
Flying well required even greater talent and a great deal of time.
Modern wizards would not waste too much energy on Flying Broomsticks. After all, they neither had as low a barrier to use as Floo Powder nor were as fast and convenient as Apparition.
As a mode of transportation that had already been phased out by the wizarding world, Flying Broomsticks would have long since been swept into history's trash heap if not for the popularity of Quidditch.
Once everyone had gradually mastered a few essentials, Madam Hooch prepared to release the Golden Snitch and told the students that they could try to chase it down shortly.
Aside from people like Chu Yang, Hermione, and Harry, who had never watched a single match, all the other students were unusually excited, including Ron and Neville.
Who hadn't dreamed of becoming a Seeker as a child under their parents' influence?
Though this was not an official match, it was the closest the young wizards had ever come to their dreams.
That was why they were so excited.
But things got rather strange after that...
A group of first-years stood on their respective Flying Broomsticks, eager anticipation on their faces as they shouted, "Up! Up! Up!"
The Flying Broomsticks did rise, but every one of them threw their rider down in a disoriented heap.
Only then did everyone realize how difficult it was to maintain balance while standing on a Flying Broomstick!
"You can actually fly while standing on it? That's incredible!" Lavender Brown climbed up from the grass clutching her backside, staring at Chu Yang with a miserable expression as she muttered nonstop.
"What kind of special training did you go through? Or did you used to work in a circus?" Dean Thomas simply could not understand it. He looked blankly at the broom in his hand.
"Hey! I don't believe you can fly a second time. You'll fall off the broom just like us!" The spoiled and willful Pansy Parkinson mocked Chu Yang outright.
The three point-deduction tyrants and Neville had also crashed heavily to the ground like everyone else. Ron had even rolled all the way to Chu Yang's feet. The moment their eyes met, awkwardness filled the air.
Chu Yang coughed a few times before stepping onto the broom. Everyone focused their attention on him, while Madam Hooch and Professor McGonagall stared at the Flying Broomstick beneath his feet, sensing the fluctuations of Magic Power coming from it.
The broom slowly rose into the air. Chu Yang stood firmly upon it, showing no sign of falling.
"He did it!" Daphne cried out in delight, only for Pansy to swiftly cover her mouth. Pansy glared at her angrily.
"Mr. Chu Yang, just how did you do it?" Madam Hooch and Professor McGonagall stepped forward, shocked yet deeply puzzled.
Chu Yang explained, "Maybe it's because I was born with a good sense of balance. I don't find standing on a broom particularly difficult."
Madam Hooch eyed the Flying Broomstick beneath Chu Yang's feet suspiciously, then tossed her own broom beneath herself, intending to give it a try as well.
The next second, she staggered off the broom and fell. She decisively abandoned the idea. This was not a posture ordinary people could attempt.
Madam Hooch shook her head at the equally curious Professor McGonagall, and a faint look of disappointment appeared on the latter's face.
Madam Hooch reminded the students in a teasing tone, "Everyone should stick to the conventional posture. Flying while standing on a broom seems to have become Mr. Chu Yang's privilege."
After witnessing Chu Yang's unusual flying posture, switching back to the conventional one left the first-years feeling somewhat dissatisfied.
But there was no helping it. Only those who had tried it knew how difficult it was. Not only did they have to maintain their balance, they also had to constantly ensure the effect of their Magic Power on the Flying Broomstick.
Magic Power was part of the body. If the body could not remain stable, Magic Power would naturally be affected.
After switching to the conventional posture, Harry mounted his broom and immediately flew up smoothly, circling about in midair with ease.
"Whoever catches this Golden Snitch, I'll give it to them as a keepsake!" Madam Hooch released the Golden Snitch and made her promise!
With a whoosh, Harry shot out, moving so fast that he left an afterimage in the air.
At the same time, Chu Yang shot out as well!
He followed close behind Harry, chasing the Golden Snitch!
Chu Yang did not care much whether he caught the little thing. He merely wanted to test how fast he could fly like this.
While the other students were still struggling to stay airborne, the two had already begun a fierce pursuit of the Golden Snitch.
Whether Harry or Chu Yang, both flew through the skies above Hogwarts with great skill, looking nothing like beginners trying to fly for the first time.
Professor McGonagall, who had originally planned to leave, brightened at the sight, her expression growing somewhat excited. As Gryffindor's head, most of her attention was on Harry.
Gryffindor happened to be lacking a qualified Seeker, and Harry's performance appeared very promising.
