More importantly, the captain of this patrol clearly disliked this boring assignment. It often stopped to rest during patrols, sometimes even leading its members to hide somewhere secluded and slack off.
"Now!" Chu Yang seized an excellent opportunity.
The lazy patrol stopped to rest once again. The five Extraterrestrial Demons gathered together, seemingly complaining about something. Taking advantage of their blind spot, Chu Yang quietly approached the edge of the abyss.
As he approached the abyss, Chu Yang could clearly feel Void Power eroding him. That power tried to dissolve his existence and erase him completely into nothingness.
"What powerful Void Power." Chu Yang gritted his teeth and held on. "No wonder even Sages don't dare set foot here lightly."
Fortunately, Wutong Zi had long taught him how to resist Void Power. Chu Yang activated the vitality and creative power within his body, pitting them against the Void Power. Under such circumstances, the Time-Fire Law played an enormous role. The life and hope represented by flames were precisely the nemesis of the void.
Protected by his vitality, Chu Yang successfully resisted the erosion of Void Power and slowly approached the edge of the abyss.
When he finally reached the edge, the sight before him left him deeply shocked.
The interior of the abyss was completely dark, like a bottomless well. Yet within that darkness, Chu Yang could vaguely make out the outlines of enormous structures. That should have been the prison holding the Progenitor Bird.
What concerned Chu Yang even more was that he began to sense a familiar aura. It was the fluctuation of the Progenitor Bird's inheritance. Though faint, it truly existed.
"The Progenitor Bird is down there." Chu Yang was thrilled. I finally found her!
But he quickly calmed down. This was not the time to rejoice.
