Before the search of the streets began in earnest, Qin Ran drove Riley into a secluded alley, where they waited quietly for their target to appear.
In the passenger seat, Riley watched the street nervously, afraid a crowd of police officers or bounty hunters might suddenly appear. The bounty hunters worried him most. As an information broker, he knew their methods all too well: they were dirty and would stop at nothing.

"I don't know whether there's a direct connection!"
"But right now, every scrap we learn is better than stumbling around in the dark!"
After running through it all again at breakneck speed, Qin Ran frowned at Riley.
"What I want to know is why an information broker like you is such a coward."
"Other brokers aren't like you!"
Qin Ran gave Riley a questioning look.
"It's precisely because I'm a coward
that I'm a good information broker. It means I keep my word!"
Riley's expression was earnest.
"That's the first time I've heard anyone make cowardice sound so noble!"
Qin Ran rolled his eyes.
"I'll take that as a compliment!"
Riley grinned.
"Who was that 'terrifying man' you mentioned earlier?"
