Attack

Boom!

An explosion erupted behind the car. The massive shock wave forced Shiqi to wrench the wheel to keep them from flipping over.

After bringing the car to a stop, Shiqi looked back.

The elderly couple's car had become a fireball.

As for the people inside...

There was no chance they had survived.

Shiqi froze in the driver's seat, then instinctively looked at Rock in the back.

The sudden turn of events had left Rock utterly stunned. The young man stared blankly at the scene before letting out a heart-rending scream.

"No!"

Still screaming, Rock threw open the door and rushed out.

Shiqi instinctively tried to stop him, but before he could react, Qin Ran grabbed him and sprinted off to the side.

Rat-tat-tat!

Three gunmen burst around the street corner, submachine guns in hand, and unleashed a barrage on the car Qin Ran and the others had just occupied.

The relentless gunfire immediately made Shiqi swallow his questions.

That did not mean he intended to sit idle, however.

Once he and Qin Ran rolled behind a roadside planter, Shiqi began returning fire.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

His successive pistol shots briefly interrupted the gunfire from across the street.

One gunman went down, but the other two retaliated with an even fiercer barrage.

They pinned Shiqi down completely.

"Fuck!"

"I'm putting in another request for heavier firepower!"

Bullets hammered the planter above his head, sending fragments of tile flying. Shiqi glanced at the calm-faced Qin Ran beside him, momentarily puzzled, but the incoming fire soon had him cursing loudly again.

Then, a moment later, the furious gunfire abruptly stopped.

Shiqi immediately rolled to the side of the planter, ready to return fire, only to freeze at the sight before him.

The remaining two gunmen fell to the ground, howling.
