Qin Ran looked at the thin mist hanging over the sanatorium in the distance and spoke to Shiqi.
His [Mysterious Knowledge] told him that this mist was the physical manifestation of negative energy that had reached a certain concentration.

But there was only one possible explanation for it appearing in a suburban sanatorium...
Everyone inside the sanatorium was dead!

Qin Ran set down his enormous backpack, pulled out the straps on the case containing [Words of Arrogance], and slung it onto his back. After taking a few essential items from the backpack, he climbed out of the pickup.
"Don't turn on the headlights. Back up to the junction we passed earlier. Don't open the door until I show up... and you've confirmed that it's really me!"
Qin Ran gave him those instructions.
Shiqi gestured that he understood, then took out a bottle containing some kind of powder and began sprinkling it around the truck.
Qin Ran was not surprised.
