"Holy shit!"
Pietro stared blankly at the half of his dragon-scale staff left in his hands. He had no idea where the other half had flown.
"Cough, cough! What the fuck, Pietro? Were you trying to kill me?" Steve Rogers's voice came from outside, punctuated by nonstop coughing.
With a series of clicks as his bones shifted back into place, Steve Rogers stumbled into the workshop, covered in green grass clippings and leaning against the wall for support.
The dragon-scale shield he had worn on his left arm was gone. What had happened to it was obvious.
The staff and shield were both made from dragon scales, and Pietro's violent use of the staff had wrecked them both.
In the end, Steve Rogers was the only one who had gotten hurt.
"You're not dead, Captain." Pietro gave him a sheepish grin.
"Screw you." Steve Rogers punched Pietro lightly in the chest and laughed. "That eager for me to die so you can inherit my shield?"
"Maybe I am." Pietro pouted and spread his hands.

As the two of them drifted further off topic, Ying Nan cleared her throat twice and drew everyone's attention back to herself.
"Mr. Leon, I think I have some understanding of the Avengers' strength now. You may truly be able to help us eliminate the Soul Eater's threat once and for all."
"We'd be honored, ma'am," Leon replied with an easy smile.
"Um..." Pietro suddenly raised his hand. "I find this material pretty interesting. It's light but tough. If possible, could I have a pair of daggers made from these dragon scales?"
