The halo of the top scorer on the college entrance exam was enormous.
Not long after he sat down, Jiang Ran was greeted enthusiastically by wave after wave of classmates.
Zhang Jingjing, seated beside him, was also the center of everyone's attention.
No. 1 High School had produced four students admitted to the top ten universities: Qi Ming, Zhang Jingjing, Xu Yao from Class Five, and Jiang Ran, the top scorer on the college entrance exam.
After finally dealing with his classmates, Jiang Ran at last sat down and let out a breath.
Zhang Jingjing sat beside him without saying a word, as cold and aloof as usual. Only the slight tremble of her eyelashes revealed that her heart was far from calm.
"Long time no see, Zhang," Jiang Ran said with a hearty smile, taking the initiative to greet her.
After all, the only reason he had made time to attend this "student reunion," which he found incredibly childish, was to take this opportunity to find Zhang Jingjing and repay the favor he owed her.
"I did all right on the exam... Yeah, there just wasn't enough time. Otherwise, I could've fought for a spot in the top ten too."
Tao Dapeng held a wineglass as he chatted animatedly with the students around him.
The old Tao Dapeng could have been called the "shame of second-generation heirs," but now he had finally redeemed himself.
Though he had not gotten into one of the top ten universities, his scores were more than enough to guarantee him a place at one of the nation's top hundred colleges.
"Jiang Ran, my brother!"
"That's right, that's right, brothers from different fathers and mothers. I practically raised him myself..."
With Jiang Ran becoming the top scorer, Tao Dapeng seemed even prouder than Jiang Ran
