Overview

Qi Assimilation is the central breakthrough of the Grand Ruins Realm's Qi-Absorption Path. A cultivator assimilates a strand of True Qi into their body, establishes a connection with heaven and earth, and undergoes Dao Initiation. Successful practitioners are regarded as immortals by ordinary people and may wield Qi-Ingesting Dharma Force. 3 73

The first strand of True Qi is the most consequential choice in this path. Its rank determines the cultivator's future limits, and a Dao path chosen through assimilation cannot normally be changed afterward. 4 13

Requirements

Mystic Spirit Body

Qi Assimilation ordinarily requires completion of Qi Cultivation. The cultivator must nourish their body through four stages—blood, essence, heart, and soul—until it becomes a Mystic Spirit Body. 3 4

• A Mystic Spirit Body allows the practitioner to sense, receive, and harmonize with True Qi. 12
• Qi Refinement cultivators such as Jiang Ran can sense and collect True Qi before completing this process, but cannot normally assimilate it without the required foundation. 12

Compatible True Qi

True Qi must correspond to the cultivator's fate and elemental lineage. The Hundred Yue Sect uses a Five-Elements Spirit Disc to identify this compatibility before assigning techniques and True Qi. 12 13

Assimilation Process

Qi Assimilation is a resonance between the cultivator and their selected True Qi, as well as an opportunity to comprehend the principles of heaven and earth associated with that qi. 70

During Jiang Ran's successful Ren Water assimilation, Ten-Thousand-Waters Rushing-Flow Qi entered his meridians as crystalline threads, transformed his body, and formed an illusory rotating water-vortex mark between his brows. 72

Realm Structure

Qi Assimilation cultivators enter the Qi-Ingesting Realm, which contains nine levels. Most Hundred Yue Sect practitioners remain in its early stages because Qi-Ingesting Dharma Force is far harder to cultivate than Qi Refinement spiritual power. 80
