Loki looked at the mage before him. "What does this mean?"
"This is Mage Barduk, a master of close-quarters combat," Ian explained calmly. "He is your opponent."
"Do you think I'm so weak that even a mortal mage can defeat me?" Loki felt truly insulted.
Yes, he was far inferior to Ian, but compared with everyone else in Midgard, he was a true god.
"The rule is that you can't use magic or spells. You can choose a weapon from over there," Ian continued calmly, pointing at the weapon rack.
"What difference does that make?" The physiological differences between Asgardians and humans were so vast that it didn't matter what skills the mage had learned; it wouldn't change the outcome.
"Begin."
Barduk charged at his opponent with incredible speed, catching Loki off guard. However, his battle instincts still kicked in, allowing him to dodge the first punch. The battle officially began, but the Asgardian prince was on the ground less than three minutes later after being taken down with a leg sweep.
"Damn it, that doesn't count. I was caught off guard."
"Is that so? Then get ready for the second round," Ian replied calmly. "Take your positions. Ready, begin."
Loki concentrated intensely and noticed a layer of white light floating around his opponent's body. His senses also detected an unknown energy, similar to using life force to strengthen the body for combat.
Determined not to be humiliated again, Loki decided to take the situation before him seriously. Thus, when his opponent charged at him, he was already prepared. He used all his skills and combat experience to counterattack. Unfortunately, he was still defeated about ten minutes later.
"Impossible!" Loki began to question his life. "Did you help him? Were you secretly helping him?"
"Don't use that as an excuse
