Avengers Training: Black Widow (Three)

"What exactly happened to your home?" Natasha asked. Based on Ian's story, he came from a parallel Earth. Because he had run into some trouble, he had been forced to leave and settle here.

"With things developing as they are, aren't you worried that the Great Convergence will affect it?"

"My home is isolated from the Multiverse—or rather, this Multiverse—so I don't need to worry," Ian replied. "What I need to worry about is what comes after the Great Convergence."

"You mean the trouble the Great Convergence is supposedly preparing us to deal with?"

"Exactly." Ian nodded. "I don't think anyone can escape that trouble." The two fell silent for a moment. "So, if things go badly, can the people on this Earth take refuge on your Earth?"

"Planning ahead is a good thing," Ian praised. "Yes. That's also my ultimate plan for protecting this Earth."

"I sense a 'but,'" Natasha continued.

"My spaceship is missing, so I need to find it before we can escape," Ian replied. "More importantly, I don't think running away will be as easy or simple as it sounds."

"Of course it won't." Ever since she had begun training with Ian, Natasha had realized that she had entered a world where nothing was simple or straightforward anymore. Her life as a spy had been like that too, but this was on another level—another scale.

"Enough small talk," Ian said. "We still have a lot of work to do."

"All right. What's next?"

"You have a lot of new things to learn."

"More studying?"

"You're not the studious type, are you?" Ian asked.

"This isn't even a question of whether I like studying," Natasha replied. "If it were for a new identity I was about to assume, I could spend several days studying, from educational background
