"Are you satisfied now?" Lieutenant Colonel Hart asked coldly.

"Did the person who designed the Space-Time Jump Chain die before perfecting his work?"

"Why are you asking?"

"If not, then he must have suffered a stroke immediately afterward. The program used to jump through time to the future is utterly awful. No wonder your casualties were so heavy. More than half of these people were probably teleported thousands of feet into the air above their destination, then fell to their deaths."

Ian wasn't talking nonsense or trying to scare anyone. In the movie, the protagonist, Dan Foster, was also teleported hundreds of feet above the landing site. He and several others were lucky enough to fall into a swimming pool on the roof of a skyscraper. The other recruits weren't so fortunate.

"Dr. Azim died not long after the invasion began, so the others had to take over and finish his work," Hart revealed.

"That makes sense." Ian couldn't understand how a genius capable of inventing time travel in 2051 could have created such an unfinished product. "I wrote a new program that can reduce the margin of error when you teleport. Since I haven't seen the Space-Time Jump Chain, the program isn't perfect, but if you use it, the worst-case scenario is that the recruits will be teleported ten meters above the designated location. That should greatly reduce the casualties."

"Is that really true?" Ian merely glanced at her. Lieutenant Colonel Hart immediately called over the base's chief engineer to verify his claim.

"He's telling the truth." After confirming it, the engineer looked at Ian with awe. "Are you related to Dr. Azim?"
