Background / History

Yalin had been a Magical Girl for roughly half a year by the time of the Deserted Island variety show. She became one to oppose the oppression and discrimination endured by her parents and other Beastfolk. 88 127

When Feiyan and Yuyan infiltrated Abyss Return, Yalin was assigned to alert other magical girls if they did not return by dinner. She later joined Youyue in searching for them and anxiously called out to Feiyan upon seeing her emerge from the underground passage. 4 7

After Qingyin rescued Feiyan and Yuyan, Yalin offered an awkward, reluctant thanks. Their early interactions established Yalin's tendency to hide concern and interest behind prickly words. 7 19

Deserted Island Variety Show

Yalin accompanies Qingyin to an uninhabited island for a variety show. Exhausted from studying variety-show material, she falls asleep in Qingyin's arms during the trip. 125

During the Evil God Society's ambush, Yalin fights alongside Azure and Jin Xi, then attempts to break out alone to summon Qingyin. She is intercepted after recognizing the hostage as Ye Qing and is badly wounded while trying to save him. 138
