Su Tianqing thought she was very diligent.
Ever since obtaining the Codex, she had maintained perfect attendance every day and never missed a single daily mission.
She had even been honestly completing the other missions that refreshed.
I'm a diligent Villainous Fox Fox!
But.
Even for such a diligent little fox, when faced with an eight a.m. class—
"Of course I'll still be incredibly diligent!!"
Su Tianqing lightly patted her flat chest, brimming with confidence.
Today, this fox would create a miracle! She had to make it through an entire class!
She had to restore Fox Fox's reputation!
After entering the classroom and chatting with Nan Jiayu for a while, Su Tianqing held out for five minutes after the bell rang.
Damn it, why were her eyelids fighting each other?
Then Nan Jiayu saw a golden furball curled up beside her.
"Zzzzzzzzz..."
Fox sleep.
Every first class at eight in the morning, Su Tianqing spent it sleeping like a fox.
Nan Jiayu calmly listened and took notes, trying to use that to stop herself from secretly admiring Fox Fox's sleeping face from the corner of her eye.
Tianqing spent far less time listening in class than she did.
Yet she scored full marks on nearly all her post-class quizzes, making Nan Jiayu question her life as a cat a little.
Maybe Tianqing really was a genius.
That was what Nan Jiayu thought, and she felt slightly better.
But the moment she glanced at Fox Fox's sleeping face beside her, the cat girl could not help recalling the photo from last night.
—Su Tianqing lay on her side in bed, quietly staring at the screen.
There was no makeup, no deliberate posing—just an ordinary photo, yet it made Nan Jiayu's heart inexplicably flutter.
It was as though such a cute little fox were lying right beside her.
She only had to reach out to touch her smooth fur, to brush her soft cheek.
Even if she did something more excessive, Tianqing probably would not say anything.
But.
Nan Jiayu suddenly realized something. Her gaze left the projected screen and turned toward the deeply sleeping Su Tianqing.
At this very moment, wasn't that little fox lying right beside her?
"...!"
Her heart trembled. Nan Jiayu swallowed and clenched her hands into fists.
Calm down, Little Fish, calm down.
Tianqing was still asleep. Sneak-attacking someone while they slept was absolutely forbidden!
The cat girl fought back the urge to lean over and take a huge sniff, forcing herself to focus on the professor's projection screen.
Yet her cat eyes slowly drifted back.
I want to touch her.
I want to touch her, touch her, touch her.
I really want to touch her!!
Just a little touch wouldn't cause any problems, right?
Nan Jiayu quietly extended a finger and poked the little fox's nose.
The feel was incredible!
It was as though an electric shock traveled up from her fingertip. That wonderful softness and delicacy shot straight to the top of her head, making the cat girl's tail fluff up to nearly twice its size.
No more needed to be said—her tail had gone stiff!
But that poke also broke through Su Tianqing's already shallow sleep.
The little fox groggily opened her eyes and curiously looked at Nan Jiayu, who had already withdrawn her finger and was staring at her.
"Little Fish... mm... good morning..."
Her soft, syrupy whisper sounded like sleep-talk.
The golden-furred fox sat upright, gently rubbed her eyes with her little hands, drooped her fluffy fox ears, and let out a long yawn.
She still looked half-asleep, pitiful enough to melt anyone's heart.
.
Fortunately, she only had one class that afternoon. It was not one of those terrifying days packed with classes.
After feasting in the cafeteria, Su Tianqing did not linger at school for long.
Though she wanted to stay with Little Fish, both of them needed to rest at noon, so Su Tianqing could only painfully let this little blue cat go.
Back in her rental apartment, Fox Fox shrugged off her school uniform, changed into her nightgown, and plunged headfirst into bed.
Nap time!
And besides napping, it was time to open the Codex!
Codex, grant me a slacking-off mission!
[Daily Mission 1: Find Fault] [Slacking off? In your dreams! Get to work today!] [Reward: 100 Divine Codex Stones]
"Tch."
The lousy fox clicked her tongue.
Fine. Since she had arranged to go out with the cat girl tonight, she would temporarily forgive the Codex for saying that.
Thinking about how she would get to pet that adorable magical cat girl tonight, Su Tianqing instantly felt energized, and even had much more motivation to take a nap.
But the second mission that appeared afterward left Su Tianqing somewhat confused:
[Daily Mission 2: Iris's Troubles] [Iris is in poor condition. You may not find fault with Iris today.] [Reward: 200 Divine Codex Stones]
Huh?
This was the first time she had seen such a mission appear in the Codex.
Last time, it had specifically asked her to find fault with Iris. Why was it specifically restricting her this time?
Could it be that she had gone too far last time?
The golden-furred fox closed the Codex, casually tossed it into her magical space, and lay on the bed as she thought back.
She had not even done anything to Iris.
At the roller coaster, she had controlled the giant monster and deliberately had it throw rocks at Iris, but hadn't Iris blocked all of them?
Then there was the train station incident.
Although Iris had been bound hand and foot, and Su Tianqing had leaned in to tease her for a while, she had not done anything weird!
This fox was a super upright Villain Magical Girl! Lewd stuff was a no-no!
After thinking for ages, Su Tianqing still could not figure out what had gone wrong.
The only variable was the few words of Arcane Magic Blade she had whispered into Iris's ear.
But that should not have been possible!
Could a few lines of Arcane Magic Blade really leave Iris in such poor condition?
Was this fox's Arcane Magic Blade really that charming?
The little fox, utterly lacking self-awareness, decided to sleep first and think about it again that night.
.
Yet even after finishing her afternoon class and having dinner in the cafeteria, Su Tianqing still could not figure it out.
"I just can't make sense of it!" Fox Fox said in confusion.
The time she had arranged with Hellcat was almost here, yet the little fox remained utterly baffled without a single idea.
She had tormented Iris far fewer times than Hyacinth, so why was Iris the one whose condition had worsened?
Could it be that Hyacinth was simply too thick-skinned to feel the traps Su Tianqing had designed for her at all?
Or did Iris really dislike her?
Fox Fox was extremely irritated and scratched her ears twice.
Today's mission had suddenly become difficult.
"How can I scheme against Hyacinth while avoiding Iris...?"
Su Tianqing fell into deep thought.
First, she needed to check her current resources.
Heartmoon Wand's Monster Summoning and enhancement uses were both still available. She had also saved an Immobilization Trap, and she had 1,300 Divine Codex Stones in her pocket.
If she deliberately wanted to avoid Iris, then the Immobilization Trap had to be used on Iris.
She did not want to specifically torment Hyacinth under Iris's artillery barrage.
That meant the only remaining variable was Heartmoon Wand's Monster Summoning skill.
"I need to carefully select a special monster for Hyacinth."
Su Tianqing used magic to record those words in the Codex's memo.
"This monster can only target Hyacinth alone and cannot affect Iris."
"At the same time, I need to account for Hellcat and prevent Hellcat from attacking Iris."
"When necessary, the effects caused by this monster can drag Hellcat into it as well."
Recording complete.
After reading those lines again and again, a wicked smile gradually curled across Su Tianqing's lips.
Got it. She would use that one.
Hyacinth would definitely be surprised.
