The Hero Association was actually very generous when it came to Magical Girls retiring.

After all, Magical Girls fought freaks entirely of their own accord. The Hero Association had never required heroes or Magical Girls to go fight freaks. Every hero and Magical Girl had gathered together, driven by passion, to take part in resisting the freaks.

The Association merely coordinated their assignments and distributed their salaries, performance bonuses, six types of insurance, and two housing funds.

As frontline combatants against Astral Monsters, Magical Girls had extremely lenient retirement conditions. You could practically retire whenever you wanted, and you were welcome to return afterward at any time—just like Inari, who was currently active on the front lines against freaks over in Harbor City.

"Doesn't that policy seem a little too lenient? Is that really okay?" Nan Xiaofeng shrugged and quipped.

The girl in a casual dress blinked, set down the half-finished cup of fast-food iced cola in her hand, and nodded lightly.

"The Association has operated for so many years. These measures were tailored to the current situation. I don't think there's really a matter of good or bad—only an operating strategy suited to the current environment can be considered the best."

"Besides, fighting freaks takes a lot out of you... Once you're past that age of burning passion, you start to feel like you shouldn't keep overshadowing the younger generation. Finding something else to do can be pretty interesting too."

"That does make a lot of sense..." Nan Xiaofeng nodded in agreement.

After some idle conversation, Nan Xiaofeng learned why the Association had arranged this special meeting with the two seniors.

"We called you two here because some important information can only be presented face-to-face. That way, we can answer questions and clear up as much confusion as possible."
