History

Spirit Hall library dispute

Yu Xiaogang received permission from Bibi Dong's teacher to use the Spirit Hall library, where he and Bibi Dong regularly discussed his theories. When Qian Mo objected to their loud conversation, Yu Xiaogang defended open academic discussion and argued that rigid adherence to library rules would hinder progress. His speech persuaded some onlookers and strengthened Bibi Dong's admiration for him. 4

Qian Mo then challenged Yu Xiaogang's theoretical credibility, particularly his Fusion Style and ideas on Soul Master development. Yu Xiaogang reacted angrily and could not effectively answer Qian Mo's arguments that the Fusion Style was neither original nor universally practical, and that Soul Skill randomness made strict cultivation styles impossible to follow. Search for recognition

Unable to overcome the rank 29 bottleneck caused by Luo Sanpao's malignant mutation, Yu Xiaogang sought a Martial Soul Fusion Technique as a means to gain fame and prove his worth. When he, Flender, and Liu Erlong experienced soul-power resonance, he attempted to recruit Liu Erlong with promises of continental renown, wealth, and status. She rejected him repeatedly. 34

Humiliated by Liu Erlong's rejection and resentful of Qian Mo, Yu Xiaogang challenged Qian Mo to a Soul Master duel “to prove” that he was no worse than him. Flender changed the match into a two-on-two battle, pairing himself with Yu Xiaogang against Qian Mo and Liu Erlong. Luo Sanpao shielded Yu Xiaogang from Liu Erlong's attack, but Yu Xiaogang was ultimately left injured and humiliated after the confrontation. 34 35 37 38

While searching with Flender for Black Jade Bee honey to break through rank 29, Yu Xiaogang attempted to subdue a hive with Aila Grass smoke. The amount he used incapacitated only part of the swarm and enraged the remaining bees. Forced to rely on Luo Sanpao's abilities, he produced a massive hypnotic fart mist and ignited it, eliminating the pursuing bees at the cost of Luo Sanpao exploding and injuring him through backlash. 50 51

Gengxin City arrest

Years later, Yu Xiaogang conducted another fart-related experiment in Gengxin City. The resulting explosion killed seven people and injured thirty-eight, provoking public outrage. Rather than accept responsibility, he argued that monetary compensation could settle the deaths and insulted the city's blacksmiths. 136 137

Qian Mo intervened, ordered Yu Xiaogang seized, and had guardian knights escort him away. Yu Xiaogang invoked both his father's name and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan in an unsuccessful attempt to intimidate the crowd. Yu Xiaogang is highly prideful about his intellect and reacts intensely when his theories or worth are questioned. His rank-29 limit and malformed Martial Soul feed a deep insecurity, expressed through jealousy toward Qian Mo and an obsessive desire to find a path to fame through theory or a Martial Soul Fusion Technique. 4 5 34
