After leaving the academic affairs building, Lu Zhou was about to stroll over to the School of Mathematics offices when he happened to spot an acquaintance downstairs.
Calling him an acquaintance was a bit of a stretch. Lu Zhou had only met the young man twice. It was only because his appearance was rather distinctive that Lu Zhou barely remembered him.
When Lu Zhou saw the young man, the young man clearly noticed his gaze as well. His eyes immediately lit up, and while still some distance away, he raised an arm and waved it high, as if afraid Lu Zhou would not recognize him.
"Master! It's me! I'm Ji Mo!"
The students passing by cast interested looks at him, and quite a few even laughed good-naturedly.
To be honest, when Lu Zhou saw this scene, he briefly considered pretending not to see him and turning around to leave.
But then he remembered that Ji Mo had at least brought back a perfect-score gold medal from the International Mathematical Olympiad, and had even chased him all the way from Shangjing to Jinling. There was no need for him to be so cold, so he sighed and said to the young man jogging over.
"You really came to Jin University?"
"Of course! You said you'd take me as your disciple." Ji Mo scratched the back of his head awkwardly and smiled shyly. "Hehe, I-I really want to study Mathematics with you."
Lu Zhou said nothing as he looked at the ambitious young man, merely nodding. "My standards are very strict. Have you thought this through?"
Ji Mo said solemnly, "I have! I want to become a great mathematician like you! I want to contribute to our country's natural sciences, and win another Fields Medal for our Mathematics community—"
"Enough. You don't
