At the entrance to Jinling University.
Watching the bustling street and the energetic young faces, the gray-haired old man suddenly sighed.
"The changes have been enormous."
This old man was none other than Mr. Qiu Chengtong, a tenured professor at Harvard University and the founder of Tsinghua University's Qiu Chengtong Mathematics Science Center.
Standing beside him was Academician Xiang Huanan of the Hua Academy of Sciences.
Although he did not come here often either, since he frequently stayed in the country, he often heard about Jinling University.
Hearing Mr. Qiu's sigh, he smiled and said,
"The changes here really have been tremendous. Five years ago, they were still competing with Aurora University for a place in the top five and fighting Southeast University over who was more authentic. Now, they have quietly risen to the top tier in the country. Speaking of which, it was all thanks to Academician Lu. Whenever I talk about this with my old friends at Aurora University, they are always full of envy, complaining about why Aurora never produced someone like him."
"Especially in recent years, Jinling University has been carrying out educational reforms. With Academician Lu's support, they have been quite successful in every regard. In particular, the academic talent cultivation program for undergraduates that he established after returning from Princeton has now become a model for educational reform pilot programs at universities across the country. It has achieved excellent results at quite a few Project 985 universities, and I hear they even plan to promote it nationwide in the future."
Hearing Academician Xiang's words, Mr. Qiu smiled and said emotionally,
"If we want progress in education, what we need is a top-down transformation from elementary education to higher education. Relying on a single great person or a handful of universities is not enough."
