"Eight hundred bags of cement, seventy bundles of rebar... aren't you a research institute? What do you need so many building materials for?"
The Jinling Institute for Advanced Study.
Two trucks were parked in an open lot.
The veteran driver who climbed out of one of the trucks looked at the staff member checking the list and couldn't help asking out of curiosity.
"No idea." After checking the delivery slip and confirming that everything was in order, the logistics staff member signed it and answered casually, "Maybe the engineering institute needs them. You haven't seen our stranger procurement lists. I'm used to it by now."
"What could be stranger than this?"
"...Even if you ask, I can't tell you."
Hearing that, the veteran truck driver rolled his eyes.
If you can't tell me, what are you showing off for?
"Let's get this straight first: I don't have to help unload, right? Unloading isn't included in our service."
The warehouse manager flipping through the procurement list chuckled, glanced at him, and said,
"Don't worry about that. Our logistics system is fully automated."
As they spoke, a humming sound came from nearby.
Looking toward the sound, they saw more than a dozen small and medium-sized AGVs, along with forklifts equipped with robotic arms and lifting platforms, swarm over from the side.
Guided by four drones fitted with industrial cameras, the vehicles moved like ants with clearly assigned duties. Some unloaded the cargo, while others automatically planned routes and transported it, each working at its designated task.
In less than five minutes, the trucks had been completely unloaded.
Before leaving, the last drone even bobbed up and down toward the two men as though it had come to life, seemingly nodding to express... thanks?
The veteran driver stared at it all in disbelief,
