Whatever the overseas media and onlookers made of it, Lu Zhou, standing in the underground laboratory, was utterly stunned by Xiao Ai.
Calling it Bumblebee might not have been quite right.
To be precise, what stood before him was a model of Bumblebee. Its smooth, hammered aluminum-alloy shell gleamed under the laboratory's incandescent ceiling lights, while the machinery beneath its streamlined exterior was a perfect marriage of form and function.
It had not been painted, but the resemblance was so striking that Lu Zhou, who remembered the Transformers films fairly well, recognized it at a glance.
The enormous model was not quite finished, but materials still lay piled around the laboratory, and the industrial robots along the wall showed no sign of stopping.
Their eight mechanical arms moved like an octopus's tentacles, deftly turning aluminum-alloy plates as the files and hammers in their grips scraped and clanged against them. They worked with a practiced speed far beyond anything they had managed when Xiao Ai first got these new toys.
Through an algorithm similar to neural-network learning, Xiao Ai could quickly master a tool once it had adapted to it. That ability was clearly not limited to controlling plasma; machining and automated assembly were also well within its capabilities.
But...
"What... are you doing?" Lu Zhou asked.
The mechanical arms stopped moving.
The drone hovering nearby rocked from side to side, as though tilting its head.
A moment later, Xiao Ai sent a message to Lu Zhou's phone.
Didn't Master ask Xiao Ai what kind of body Xiao Ai wanted? Xiao Ai didn't want to trouble Master, so Xiao Ai made one. (*°▽°*)
Lu Zhou was speechless.
``` What do you think? Isn't Xiao Ai's new body cool? (??????)??
Come on, praise me! Hurry, hurry! Praise me and I'll
