An office at the Institute for Advanced Study.
Wei Wen sat at his desk, staring at the draft papers before him as he thought hard.
Around 2019, after Lu Zhou left Princeton, he introduced Wei Wen to Professor Edward Witten, allowing him to pursue research in Mathematical Physics.
When he first began his PhD under Witten, Wei Wen had been quite excited.
Anyone working in Mathematical Physics, or even anyone with some understanding of the field, could not possibly have failed to hear Witten's name.
However, pursuing a PhD under a giant in the field was no easy task. That excitement did not last long before he gradually began to struggle.
Since Witten often went to CERN for visits, he spent less than a third of each year in Princeton. As a result, Wei Wen had to face most of his academic difficulties alone.
Only after becoming Witten's student did he finally understand why Professor Lu's Senior Brother Luo had been unable to graduate smoothly after so many years. He also finally understood just how much Professor Lu, who tirelessly guided them through their studies, had looked after them.
Even though he had already graduated more than a year ago, whenever Wei Wen encountered a problem he could not solve, Lu Zhou still helped him find a way.
For example, by entrusting him to scholars he knew...
Carrying two cups of coffee, Professor Fefferman walked over and set one beside him. Then he asked gently,
"Have you got any ideas?"
"Not yet."
"Do you need help?"
Wei Wen shook his head and continued wrestling with the rows of equations on the paper.
"No, thank you. You've already helped me enough... Give me another ten minutes. I feel like I'm about to find the answer. I'm just
