The International Lunar Hadron Collider Symposium was scheduled for three days later. Since Lu Zhou had arrived in Shangjing early, he had three full days to spend as he pleased.
However, after traveling from Jiangling to Jiangcheng, then from Jiangcheng to Shangjing, he was already feeling rather tired.
After leaving his luggage at the hotel where he was staying, he went nowhere else. He took a shower, then sat beside the hotel's floor-to-ceiling window, quietly studying his laptop and cross-referencing it with the printed copy of Vera's paper beside him until dinnertime.
He called for a hotel attendant to bring up a simple meal. After quickly finishing it, Lu Zhou checked the conference documents, then took a shower and hurried off to bed, bringing his busy day to an end.
He rose early the next morning and called Wang Peng to drive him to the area beside the Old Summer Palace.
He had intended to head straight to Yanjing University, but on a sudden whim, he walked toward Tsinghua University's north gate instead.
After checking his ID, the gatekeeper said little and politely let him through.
Walking along Tsinghua University's tree-lined paths, Lu Zhou admired the scenery on either side and soaked up the university's rich academic atmosphere as he made his way toward the west gate.
But just as he reached a lakeside, he happened to spot two familiar faces.

One was a towering figure in the Chinese mathematics community, and the other was a leading figure in the Chinese physics community.
They were none other than Professor Qiu, the founder of geometric analysis, and Professor Yang, one of the foremost figures in physics.
Lu Zhou was about to go over and greet them when he heard the two elderly men apparently
