Jinling Institute for Advanced Study.
An office at the Mathematics Research Institute.
Forcing himself to endure the roomful of chalk dust, Lu Zhou walked in and opened the window. He first stuck his head outside to take a breath of fresh air, then turned back to look at Professor Chen Yang, who stood by the blackboard with a bewildered expression.
"That question you asked me the day before yesterday was rather interesting."
Lu Zhou gave a light cough and shook the stack of papers in his hand.
"I went back and looked into it. These are the rough results... Oh, right, let me tell you something else. Your conjecture was correct. Your mathematical intuition is quite sharp. If this thing had been any more difficult, it could have been put out as a mathematical conjecture."
Chen Yang looked back at the work on his blackboard, then at the stack of A4 paper in Lu Zhou's hand. He was clearly stunned. Even his usually flat tone carried a trace of incredulous surprise.
"You... already solved it?"
"It took a little time, but not too long. For me, it was just a matter of minutes. I definitely didn't spend the entire night thinking about it..."
Pinching the bridge of his nose, Lu Zhou waved the stack of A4 paper in his right hand before slapping it onto the desk. "By the way, do you have any coffee here? If it's not too much trouble, bring me a cup."
Chen Yang nodded woodenly.
"Okay."
The coffee arrived quickly.
However, when Lu Zhou saw several chalk fingerprints on the side of the cup, his eyebrow immediately twitched.
"Can't you try to keep up with the times? Even if you can't get used to whiteboards, surely you can write on scratch paper."
Chen Yang shook
