Lu Zhou had not actually understood much of Professor Joseph's explanation.
The equations on the whiteboard, however, were all too familiar to him.
Although completing them had only taken him an hour, that did not mean the hour had been worthless.
"...I don't disagree with your point. Every discipline should have its own research ecosystem, and mathematics should never steal the show. But that isn't what I'm talking about." Clearing his throat softly, Lu Zhou pointed at the whiteboard and continued, "The equation on the third line... isn't used that way."
The moment those words left his mouth-
The lecture hall, already stirring after he stood up to ask a question, became even livelier!
Quite a few people turned toward the back rows, eager to watch the drama unfold. They wondered who could be so arrogant as to challenge the speaker head-on without the slightest attempt at tact. Joseph was a leading figure in economics, after all. Was this fellow really so eager to make an enemy for his advisor?
"Someone actually questioned Professor Joseph's mathematical ability?!"
"Even Professor Krugman hasn't said anything..."
"Who is this guy, anyway? He looks pretty young. Probably a student?"
"Wait, I feel like... he looks familiar, but I can't remember where I've seen him."
"..."
"Please explain where the problem is. Otherwise, please don't disrupt the lecture." Recognizing the man who had been playing on his phone during his presentation, Professor Joseph could not help looking displeased. His voice carried a note of irritation. "Or do you think you understand how to use these things better than I do? That you understand the Lu-Bewley Model better than I do?"
Lu Zhou nodded. "If we're only talking about the mathematics."
The entire hall erupted.
Professor Joseph frowned, then laughed despite his anger.
"Oh? Now I'm
