Pushing aside the assistant who tried to stop him, Woods strode into the office, planted both hands on the desk, and stared at Kevin, the White House chief of staff seated behind it. He spoke each word with deliberate force.
"I want to see the President!"
Looking helplessly at Woods standing before his desk, Kevin put down his pen and sighed.
"The President isn't at the White House right now and probably doesn't have time to see you. Seeing me is the same. I'll convey your request to the President, provided that it falls within reasonable bounds."
ExxonMobil was one of the major donors funding their party. They did not necessarily have to listen to their sugar daddies, but unless it was necessary, nobody wanted to cross Franklin and his green bills...
Seeing that the chief of staff was not taking him seriously, Woods drew a deep breath and continued at a rapid pace, staring straight at him.
"Listen, the Lithium-Air Battery patent originally belonged to us, but they used disgraceful means to steal what was ours! This is blatant commercial fraud!"
Even after years in politics had given him skin as thick as a city wall, Kevin still could not help but develop several dark lines across his forehead as he listened to Woods's tirade.
