Background / History
For an immense period, Shura God searched the planes for an inheritor capable of completing the Asura God's Nine Trials and freeing him from his divine office. He initially monitored Tang San because Tang San descended from his former successor, Tang Chen; Tang Hao's Killing God Domain was covertly strengthened to preserve that bloodline. 1
Su Qi's awakening changed his plans. Su Qi manifested the Shura God's transcendent divine artifact, the Asura Demon Sword, as a martial soul and was born with the Killing God Domain and an Innate Shura Sacred Body. Shura God judged him a perfect inheritor who could directly receive the divine trials, abandoning Tang San as anything more than a backup candidate. 1 4
Shura God entered Su Qi's Spiritual World through a strand of divine sense, learned of Su Qi's previous life and death at the hands of the King of Slaughter, and formally accepted him as his sole successor. He began the Nine Trials, left divine sense behind to protect Su Qi, and granted him the blood-red successor mark. 2 27
When Tang Hao attempted to attack Su Qi, Shura God briefly possessed his successor, suppressed Tang Hao, shattered his Clear Sky Avatar, and reopened his old wounds. He spared Tang Hao only out of consideration for Tang Chen, Tang Hao's grandfather. The intervention drew Sea God Poseidon's accusation that Shura God had violated the God Realm's prohibition on interfering with mortal fate. 3 4
As Su Qi's growth accelerated, Shura God repeatedly tailored and escalated the trials. He persuaded the God Realm Committee to extract Golden Dragon King divine power for a future trial, deliberately turning an evolved Azure Bull Python into Su Qi's Asura Eighth Trial and intending to forge Su Qi into a future slayer of the Golden Dragon King. 31 33
Shura God later aligned with Evil God and the Goddess of Kindness, granting Su Qi access to portions of their powers so that the future Shura God could wield a simplified Three Realms Judgment Sword. Though proud of Su Qi's potential, he eventually acknowledged the possibility that his successor's obsession with power could make him a future threat to the God Realm. 48 78 86
Appearance
Shura God is depicted as a tall, lean deity clad in dark-red armor engraved with demonic patterns. His presence is accompanied by tangible blood-red killing intent and an oppressive divine aura. 1 31
- Blood-red, cold, sharp eyes. 4 31
- Dark-red divine robe or Asura God Armor, depending on manifestation. 1
- Often appears through a colossal divine-sense incarnation or statue. 1 27
- A three-headed, six-armed Asura God Statue represents his descended divine thought in Su Qi's Spiritual World. 48
Personality
Shura God is domineering, blunt, and intensely competitive. He dismisses Sea God's objections, openly boasts of Su Qi's superior compatibility, and treats individual combat strength as a decisive measure of status. 4 48
He is also pragmatic and calculating. Although he invokes divine rules when convenient, he repeatedly bends or risks violating them to accelerate Su Qi's inheritance, relying on political support from Evil God and the Goddess of Kindness to shield himself from impeachment. 30 48
Despite his ruthlessness in designing increasingly dangerous trials, Shura God is personally protective of Su Qi. He gives his successor privileged guidance, intervenes against threats, and shows visible delight when Su Qi prioritizes completing the inheritance quickly so Shura God can retire. 3 27 81
Abilities & Authority
Slaughter and Judgment Authority
Shura God is one of the God Realm's three Law-Enforcement Gods and is regarded as the strongest individual combatant among the Five Great God-Kings. He governs slaughter and judgment. 2 31
- May judge deities and decide whether others are permitted to establish divine positions. 2
- His killing intent embodies both righteousness and wickedness, representing judgment rather than the Rakshasa God's evil-aligned slaughter. 18
- His divine authority and inheritance are recognized as superior to the Angel God's and Rakshasa God's. 6 18
Divine Sense and Successor Protection
Shura God can project strands of divine sense into the Mortal Realm despite God Realm restrictions. His divine thought can communicate with, protect, and temporarily possess Su Qi. 2 3 27
- Reinforced Su Qi's Spiritual World, leaving it resistant even to the influence of peerless experts such as Qian Daoliu. 2
- Granted Su Qi permanent protection against contamination by evil forces or external influences. 2
- Briefly possessed Su Qi to defeat Tang Hao; however, Su Qi's young body could not withstand the state for long without severe strain. 3
- His direct interference has repeatedly provoked accusations of breaking God Realm rules. 3 30
Asura God's Nine Trials
Shura God administers the Nine Trials that determine whether an inheritor can receive the Asura Godhood. Failure is fatal, as demonstrated by Tang Chen's loss of self after failing to overcome the force that occupied him. 2
- Personally selected Su Qi because the Innate Shura Sacred Body, Asura Demon Sword, and Killing God Domain make him uniquely compatible with the inheritance. 1 2
- Issues trials according to Su Qi's current capability; greater potential leads to harsher assessments and greater rewards. 28 49
- Granted the Asura Legacy Soul Bone, allowing Su Qi's soul bones to assimilate into a set capable of condensing Asura God Armor before full godhood. 27
- Raised the difficulty of the Golden Dragon King-related trial by extracting additional Golden Dragon King divine power when Su Qi outgrew the original challenge. 86
Asura Demon Sword and Asura Blood Sword
The Asura Demon Sword is Shura God's transcendent divine artifact, which inexplicably manifested as Su Qi's martial soul. 1
- Its divine killing aura can suppress Titled Douluo-level opponents and cause Rakshasa divine power to recoil in submission. 3 6
- Shura God used the sword's power through Su Qi to break Tang Hao's Clear Sky Avatar with a single strike. 3
- His strongest attack, Asura Blood Sword, was used to slay and split the Dragon God. 81
- Shura God's original Asura Blood Sword requires igniting Shura bloodline and expending godhood origin. 81
Three Realms Judgment Sword
Shura God serves as the core of the Five Great God-Kings' joint killing technique, the Three Realms Judgment Sword. The technique was created to suppress God-King-level threats such as the Dragon God. 34 78
- Shura divine power balances the paired forces of Kindness and Evil, as well as Life and Destruction. 78
- Shura God arranged for Su Qi to inherit portions of Evil and Kindness divine power, enabling the future Shura God to wield a simplified version independently. 34 48
- The long-term purpose of Su Qi's training is to use this power against the Golden Dragon King. 48 78
